But the problem with knee injuries and ligament damage is that you may feel you're getting better, then go train and feel some pain or discomfort. Then that prolongs your progress. I just hope he returns soon so he can help out our midfield as a sub. And hopefully return tot he Italy lineup....may not be for a while for that to happen.

It's true, you have to be extremely careful with knee injuries.

I don't think there's any need to rush him back anyway, both De Rossi and Pizarro are looking good at the moment.

But we need Aquilani for the coppa or backup...De Rossi and Pizarro may also get injured and Alberto is a great 2nd choice.

Yeah, I agree.

Given the chance he's good enough for a first team spot though, I'll never forget the two goals he scored against Inter at the San Siro in the Italian Super Cup at the start of the season.

He is great as a sub or replacement for De Rossi/Pizarro. Poor De Rossi plays very hard every game and never slows down. I thin he needs a break. Aquilani should help him when he returns...hopefully soon!

Great News....just in time for Champions League...maybe Aquilani can make a substitute appearance against Empoli and rest Perrotta or De Rossi. But it's unlikely he will play. But glad he is recovered!

I don't see why he shouldn't get 10 or 15 minutes if you're 2-0 up or something, like you said he could be useful for the CL.

Well now that Perrotta is a major doubt for Lyon...Aquilani must get a sub appearance this game against Empoli....just to get his legs back in game shape. Spalletti can't gamble that our starters like Mancini, Willy, Taddei, De Rossi, Pizarro won't get a knock against Empoli, training, or Lyon.(I pray they do not) So we need the likes of Aquilani, Cassetti, Rosi to be ready for the call. I just wish Aquilaini was ready last week where he could of played a good 25 minutes, as Roma were well clear.

I knew that returning would be a problem. When you suffer an injury like that, returning usually results in more trouble. You have to take things slow and build up your strength physically. Very disappointed in this news. We could of used him especially if Spalletti wants to rest key midfielders for the return Lyon leg.
