I'm really hoping Aquilani follows in the footsteps of DDR and Totti. He needs to remain at Rome for life. Home grown Romans!

Aquilani is great going forward.Ive seen Pizarro like passes from him lately. He can flick backheel and do rebona's for his flair which really adds creativity for our team.
He can be extremely vital for Azzuri and Roma.....Everyone knew he would be great and would bloom into a star.Im glad its happening now.

Ya right when we needed him to most too...this was a tough start to the season with the schedule, and the pre season losses that roma suffered...we really needed someone to step up and take charge, and alberto along with totti and some others have really done that for us

Aquilani's passing has improved, but i feel DDR has suffered though. DDR has made some sloppy passes the past few games. Maybe that's bc he doesn't play as more offensive role and doesn't get the ball that often.

Nah DDR always was terrible at short direct passes. His long balls are class though. But his short game needs improvement.I love his placement though. He really protects us.without him we'd be dead!

Aquilani: No place like Rome Thursday 6 September, 2007
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Roma midfield starlet Alberto Aquilani is ready to commit to his hometown club, despite attracting a host of high-profile suitors with recent performances.
The 23-year-old has hit a rich vein of form at the start of the campaign with two spectacular strikes in the Giallorossi’s first two Serie A outings and is ready to negotiate a new deal with the capital club.
“Alberto will play for Roma for a long time and despite the flattering interest of a number of other prestigious clubs, he is ready to commit his future to the club,” agent Franco Zavaglia told Teleradiostereo.
“Of course, Barcelona, Valencia, Chelsea and Arsenal all want him, but Aquilani has never had any doubts about where he wanted to play since he was a little boy.
Roma has always been in his heart and he has no intention of playing elsewhere. He is becoming a leader and is the future of the club alongside Daniele De Rossi.”
Aquilani will be hoping that his dream start to the season can continue on the international stage, where he is preparing to play a pivotal role in the Azzurri’s Euro 2008 qualifier against France on Saturday.
“He deserves Azzurri recognition as it is only injuries in the past that have stopped him becoming a fixture in the national side,” Zavaglia concluded.

3 years ago, Albert was lacking confidence and was very uncomfortable playing. But now, he's transformed into a marvelous talent and is full of confidence. He's earning a starting position. We should all be very proud of this kid.

I am so proud of him, I too knew he would be great, and not only has he been that... he has been fantastic. He has really stepped it up, and deserves to wear the azzurri shirt. I am happy for him, he has really improved over the years

He may make a sub appearance. But Donadoni HAS to go with experience. This is the most important match. So i doubt we will see Alberto play. He hasn't played with the Azzurri in so long, so i think it would be a mistake to start him. But i would bring him on if we are winning and want to waste time. I don't care who plays, as long as we win.

Ya we need to win the ukraine game....we fell to 3rd in the standings...but france and scottland play each other next and that means that as long as we win, we either take 1st or 2nd place in the rankings
