You don't have €€ for Gomez.

And, no offense, but I don't think Roma are appealing enough.

Thats where you're wrong my young friend. We've already been linked and can dish out the 15-20 mill for him.we've actually got the transfer funds this season and Im not even counting the sale for Mancini or the Soros folks taking over.

Also who the hell wouldnt want to play next to Totti. He'll spoon feed Gomez through balls lobs and every single possible angle of a pass possible when he returns in september.

Furthermore we're a top 8 club in europe. What do you mean we wont appeal? He's big strong and good on his feet.Something we desperately need in the box. Also a top Italian club.If inter or Milan dont get in the way I can see this happening.

VfB put a 40m € price tag on Gomez, can you offer that much ?

Also, Heldt [VfB President] said he won't sell Gomez this summer and Gomez himself said he won't leave this season.

I think you pretty much answered yourself there mate. Milan & Inter, also Juve > Roma. Not to mention Chelsea and Man Utd who have also been linked with him, also Madrid. Barça is Gomez's dream destination, he admitted himself.
All those 4 are also > Roma, specially financially speaking, which is the main "argument" (lack of a better word but you know what I mean) to sway players these days.

lol apologies

Gomez > Huntelaar, anyday of the week plus twice on sundays.

He shoots with both feet, has better technique, is faster on and off the ball, has a better first touch, is a better poacher and stronger in the air. For me Huntelaar is overrated, only scores in Holland like Kuyt/Kezman/etc. He has never impressed for Dutch NT.

Btw, again I must stress that I didn't mean to disrespect Roma, by any means. I just don't think you can bring in world class players atm, mainly due to the €€ factor.

You're nearly as big as mighty Porto

The only way u will get Gomez is if no1 else is seriously interested and/or Soros takes over Roma. Other club's are more appealing, both financially, and their ability to compete for trophy's other than the Coppa Italia.

Kahn is right...it's not only a matter of how much a players transfer fee will be and how attractive the club is (Which Roma are definitely starting to attract big names due to the run in CL the past two years) but also players salaries. If you want high end players like Gomez...you can not have a cap system.

6 points out for the title with 3 games left is not what i consider battling for a Coppa Italia trophy...3 weeks prior, Roma were battling for the CL trophy where all the other big clubs (Inter, Milan and Juve) were all praising Roma for their efforts in CL. 3 weeks ago = Roma > Inter, Milan, Juve!!!

Our record against Roma this season is better. In fact, our record against all the big clubs this season is better than Roma. If Roma were robbed of as many pts as Juve, u would be further down the table. Up until we were no longer mathematically as much of threat to Inter's position anymore, we were toward's the top of the list in terms of pk's against, goal's called back, and foul's against. The week after we beat u and were withing range to overtake you, the most controversial game of this season happened.

Roma > Inter, Milan and Juve? Lol, u better hope u get taken over, or reality is going to sink back in. 2 yrs of good, not great form, hardly eclipses the heavy weight's of serie a.

Last year when Roma was beating teams like Lyon and Man United...Juve were beating teams like Frosinone and Bari. This year, Roma beat Real Madrid...so we must accept the facts that Roma are indeed a great team...actually, over the past two years...Roma are a top eight club in all of Europe.

But, credit to Juve for their record this season in Serie A. They've done great things.

Well of course u were beating those team's, u werent placed in serie b. Ironically though, u would have never faced those teams if it werent for Juve getting thrown into serie b, and fiorentina being stripped of their CL place for the 2nd time.

Financially, and in term's of appeal to player's, Roma still cant compete with Juve, Milan or Inter. Even last summer we beat Roma to certain mercato targets.

I'm not trying to undermine Roma's talent, but you cannot deny the role calciogate has played in your recent rise, and since calciogate is slowly fading away, I wouldn't be so confident anymore, unless Roma are given some investment.

well we are the under dogs, but we sure can beat the big guys any day any time and this season proves it.

we made it far 2 times in cl then inetr or juve(yeah they we re down), and milan so "called" champs are no where near their glory and inter...well they are just inter.

yes we are short of the ££ but if the players we are targeting isnt sought after the big fishes then we sure have good chance of landing them.we are as attractive as they are and we can sure a week in week out then a star studded team then warming the benches wch i guess saves the big guys millions in installing heaters on cold times.

Calciogate is over. Juve will make some more reinforcements this summer and so will Milan. I think Roma will be ok...they will compete against the big clubs. They may not have the same quality...but they aren't that far off. Roma have turned a corner since hiring Spalletti. They have a winning attitude now...but, you're right in terms of investment in the club. All Roma is lacking is the financial backing and they could really be a force in Europe.
