Will Roma Have A New PK Taker This Season?
What are your guys's thoughts on this? After totti was fouled for the PK in the super cup we walked away from the box like he knew he wasnt even being considered for the the kick, and DDR walked right up to the circle like he wa the pre determined man for the job...I mean totti did miss 7pks last year, what do you guys think?

Nah...i read that Totti took a little knock on that foul by Burisso. That's why DDR took the shot. Otherwise, Totti would of took it.

Totti missed quite a few Pk's last season tho, 3 if I'm not mistaken. Maybe you should get someone more reliable.

He missed way more then 3 me missed 6 or 7...I dont think he will miss that many this year, but i still want to see him take the shots....there is nothing better then totti staring down the ball and the keeper...straight mean face, and then all of a sudden..BAM its in the back of the net, and the thumb goes into the mouth as totti dances around smiling with the team jumping on his back

I dont think there is a need for this thread mate. Totti said he felt a bit of a twinge its nothing major. Its good to have a secondary man if Totti isnt playing.I trust both 100%.

Pizarro is the best penalty taker in the squad, end of story.

well i dont think it carries a big significant if totti takes pks or not.im happy as long as the pks are converted rather then who takes them.
but as of now i se totti is 1st in line and maybe de rossi 2nd and probably pizzaro and giuly maybe 3rd.

Totti came of his injury last season and wasn't confident at all out there. He will miss his share of penalties this season, but he needs to be more creative and don't always go for the blast.

Totti's ego is too big for another player take his PKs. He needs the spotlight on himself all the time, if he doesn't have it, he'll throw a temper tantrum.

No, he was very well behaved. I can say this without a doubt, I don't think he was Roma best player, and that was the worst I have seen him play against us in awhile.
But I stand by my comments in regards to this thread. He needs to take them, and he will take them.

No doubt he will but he showed great maturity in letting De Rossi take it even if he was hurt or not.The win weighs more to him then his ego.

Totti played well against Inter. He made some nice passes and was very involved in the match.Would of liked to see him shoot more, but it's still early in the season. He's Roma's best offense player and he needs to take the PK. If he misses a few this season...maybe think of another pk taker. But until that happens, he must lead the team. Last season he wasn't in form early on and lacked confidence. Keepers got in his head and knew his strategy. He needs to mix things up a bit...change direction of kicks etc. He's the best striker in Italy...he can do it!!

His dribbling was great as well.Usually he's hesitant when dribbling since he gets fouled alot but in the super coppa he looked extremely comfortable and actually ran well.Something I missed seeing dearly.

His pace isn't what it used to be. So his dribbling has declined the past couple years. I think within the next couple years, Roma should look for a top striker and move Totti behind him in his natural role.
