Both players of Italian decent are happy to be heading to Europe to join the Giallorossi on their quest for the 2008 scudetto and 2008 Champions League Title. The young pair have about 20 years of playing experinece between them, and although neither of them have ever been heard of, they will offer much to the Roman style of play. Carinci will play along side Juan in the RB position while Marentette will play next to De Rossi. They brought in Carinci to secure the back field...While Marentette will take the majority of the free kicks as his long range shots are very powerful and accurate.

Roma's Capitan Francesco Totti was quoted saying " Im very excited about the recent signing of the North American youngsters...Im excited to work with the pair of them. I think they are just want this team needs to compete for the title this season"

Coach Luciano Spalletti discoverd the two english speaking players while seeking out tactical advice from Carinci on Talksoccer.net. He invited the pair to Rome to discuss their contracts.

Each player has signed a $500,000 starting contract, well under Romas salary cap. When asked why they singed for so little they had this to say:

Carinci:"Im just glad to be here, playing for Roma has always been a dream of mine, and playing along side Totti is a dream come true. Marentette:"I agree I've always been a Roma support, and myself and Davide are here for the jersey, and to win. Money isn't everything, we are here because we love the Roman club, the city, and all its fans around the world"

The North American duo will see the pitch in Roma in the begining of the 2007-2008 season, both players are already gearing up for the Roma, Lazio derby early in the season
