Maybe, although Buffon would be in line for it as well.
After Buffon though I feel he'd be the best candidate by then.
|
i think it might fall to one of our defenders then buffon, after that de rossi has a shot.

Cannavaro, Nesta, Materazzi and Zambrotta are all likely to be gone by 2010 though.

I think they Nesta for sure...maybe the rest may take part in 2010...but certainly nothing more then 2010. That may be their final tournament.

Damn right...some people were saying that because 2006 was teh last WC for Totti, ADP, Inzaghi, Toni that they had to win or they would never ge the chance again. Come 2010...it may be the same cae for Cannavaro, Zambrotta (if he lasts) and Materazzi, Pirlo, Guttuso...Italy will need to rely on the younger kids to fill the roles of all these legends.

None of them. Too old. Totti is lucky if he plays Euro. ADP will be like 36 by then, Toni will be 33. Inzaghi won't make it. By 2010, there will be a fresh blood. Quag, Gilardino, Cassano, Joels boy Pazzini, Rossi, Bianchi....these guys will be in there mid-30's and they will lead Italy. The old guys are done.

dave is right on that one , all over the pitch only the gk and maybe some defenders make the cut after they are certain age, and that s not even possible in todays game where the youngsters are improving on faster making less room for the old guards.
but this is good thing as we can rely on a good balance of youth and experience.our azzurri can rest assured that we have some good young talents coming from all the age groups the u19, u21 and some of them who already are on the 1st team like Quagliarella
the legends wont be forgot but they will always be looked upon by the younger generation for their wisdom on the game!!

I agree..Duke's posts are class. Aaron, thankfully your reading his posts now that Duke got a new keyboard, reading his prior posts in the past was definitely a challenge lol. But we appreciated the effort even with a broken keyboard
