He was great for Udinese....taking them to a CL spot...they were a fantastic club then. Spalletti knew he couldn't achieve anymore with Udinese, that's why he left. Roma lucked out in getting him.

There was an interview with Spalletti in the new "Champions" magazine from the CL. It talked of his influences on his coaching career, and players, people that have helped made him what he is toda. Amongst them, Francesco Totti, David Pizarro, Franco and Rosella Sensi.

One part really put a smile on my face:

Quote:
When asked did he envy Inter coach Roberto Mancini, he replied "No" and said "But I'm jealous of his hair."

That's funny...i remember that article...Spalletti looks cool though...especially with his little bit of hair on his upper chin.

<--- That's one cool dude!

Win us the Scudetto or CL...and you are free to go Spalletti

Sensi confident Spalletti committed to Roma
tribalfooball.com - May 22, 2007

Roma executive director Rosella Sensi is confident coach Luciano Spalletti will never be tempted away from the capital club.

Spalletti delivered the Coppa Italia and also Champions League qualification to Roma this season and Sensi said: "Sometimes clubs are forced to tie their coach to a long-term agreement in order to build an important project together.

"But we do not have any doubts about Spalletti. He is a very serious man. I don't believe he would ever ask to leave - at least not until after he won something important with us."

I do think he may walk away after a few years if he fails to reach any objectives set by the club or himself. His main priority is to win the Scudetto. If he does not win it in the next 5 years...i think he will step down by himself.

I saw that image before! He has been our top signing in the past 5 years i think. Ooozes class and his media interviews are always funny. Cant wait till he is the Azzuri's coach. That should be a site to see.

I thought i posted here maybe i didnt but i said that i dont think he will leave. Roma is only going to get better and it doesnt make sense to leave because he would just be leaving for a lesser team. There is no where to go but down roma is in 2nd this year hes not goint to go to inter. and Roma is gonna be even more competetive next year.

That won't happen for a long time. He needs more experience internationally and in Serie A. I think Ancelotti and Mancini are ahead of him due to experience. But he's a fantastic coach and is still very young. Not even 50 years old yet.

Next year, we will see what Spalletti is really made of. With Inter to be stronger, Milan strong, and Juve back, Roma will have their hands full. We need to be stronger as well in order to compete all season long against many good teams. We can forget about Lazio, they will be stronger next season as well.

Spalletti has done a remarkable job with Roma. Taking them for a terrible club, to a CL and Scudetto contender. Roma owe him a lot for his hard work.
