He's now got the record for most games and most goals for Roma, it's unbelievable.

And to think he wants to play on until he's 38 as well.

Well he better enjoy his goals now, because by the time he reaches 38, he won't be getting many. Maybe a penalty kick specialist lol

But just think how many goals he could score in the next 5 years, he could easily get to 200.

Grande Totti......

Quote:
Totti hits new high for Roma
13-Feb-2007

Serie A resumed this weekend amidst tighter security as the Italian game adjusted to new measures to combat hooliganism.

Pictures of teams playing in empty stadiums spoke volumes of the new climate surrounding calcio.

On the pitch, though, it was business as usual as Francesco Totti again grabbed the headlines, this time with a goal on his record 452nd appearance for AS Roma.

Historic occasion
The Stadio Olimpico was one of just six stadiums permitted to admit spectators following new legislation passed by the Italian government last week. That allowed Roma fans to witness their talismanic captain surpass Giacomo Losi's long-standing club record in a 3-0 win against FC Parma. They had further reason to celebrate five minutes into the second half when the 30-year-old forward put Roma in front with a header to replace AC Siena's Enrico Chiesa as Serie A's leading scorer among active players with 139 goals.

'Huge honour'
"It is a huge honour to become the player with most appearances for the club I love, surpassing a great champion like Losi," said Totti, who is also the club's highest scorer having bettered the 106 goals scored by Roberto Pruzzo over two years ago. Sunday's strike was Totti's league-leading 14th goal of the season, but rather than focus on personal achievements he was keen to spread another message. "Our goal is to bring people back to see football," he said. "Violence has nothing to do with football. Stadiums without spectators are a defeat for everybody. Football is about passion and joy. We should try to display those emotions at every ground."

'Hope'
Totti spoke for the majority at the Stadio Olimpico whose rousing applause soon drowned out booing from a small section of the crowd during the minute's silence held in honour of the policeman who died in Catania last weekend. "The reaction of the spectators in Rome gives us real hope for the future," said Sergio Campana, president of the Italian Footballers' Association. Italian Football Federation acting commissioner Luca Pancalli added: "The real fans won at the Stadio Olimpico."

Yeah, all competitions. Thanks for that.

Losi only scored two goals in 450 appearances.

Him, Totti and Aldair are the only players to have played over 400 times for Roma as well.

I can't believe De Rossi is already on 150.

Haven't really looked at the stats that much...but wow Losi stinks lol....two goals......but i guess we can't make fun because he was a defender. But still, not even a few headers from corners?

De Rossi is awesome...that number go higher quicker in a few years!

Francesco Totti broke AS Roma's appearance record this week when he made his 452nd game for the club. uefa.com pays tribute to the Giallorossi fantasista by looking back over his ten greatest games.

1 UEFA EURO 2000™ Final, July
Man of the match in Italy's agonising defeat to France, Totti's clever backheel released Gianluca Pessotto for the Azzurri's goal. He was in fine form throughout the finals. His most sublime moment being his chipped penalty in the semi-final shoot-out against Holland.

2 AS Roma v Parma FC, December 2004
The first of Totti's two goals in this 5-1 victory took him past Roberto Pruzzo's club record of 106 goals in Serie A. Totti's first was a cool finish; his second a thunderous shot from the edge of the area.

3 S.S. Lazio v Roma, March 2002
Roma buried Lazio 5-1 in this derby. Totti, instrumental in the first three goals, rounded off the scoring with a superb chip. He is so lethal in derbies, that his then boss Fabio Capello dubbed him "A true anti-Laziale".

4 AC Milan v Roma November 2006
Playing as a lone striker, Totti annihilated Milan for Roma's first victory against the Rossoneri at the San Siro for 20 years. He scored both goals in a 2-1 win, the first a clinical finish, the second a centre-forward's header.

5 Real Madrid CF v Roma, October 2002
An inspired Totti masterminded the first Italian victory at the Bernabéu for 35 years. He scored the only goal of the match in this UEFA Champions League tie against the title holders and fizzed with creativity throughout.

6 UC Sampdoria v Roma, November 2006
He left the pitch to a standing ovation from both sets of fans after this display, in which he made two and scored two in a 4-2 win. His second, a stunning volley, was likened to Van Basten's goal at EURO 88.

7 AC Milan v Roma, Coppa Italia final, June 2003
Roma lost the first leg 4-1 (Totti, who else, scored) and a 2-2 draw in the second was not enough to bring the trophy home. Totti stole the match, if not the result, with two-long range strikes that put his side 2-0 up.

8 Roma v Lazio April 1999
"If Delvecchio is Roma's poison arrow," read one match report, "Totti is the bow." Motivated for derbies as only a born Romanista can be, livewire Totti made Delvecchio's two goals and scored another in this 3-1 Serie A win.

9 UEFA European Under-21 Championship final, May 1996
Totti, by now a regular in Roma's first team, was the standout youngster of the 1996 tournament, scoring in the semi-finals against France and against Spain in their own backyard in the final. Italy prevailed in a shoot-out.

10 Italy v Ukraine, June 2006
Those who claim Totti's FIFA World Cup was merely adequate overlook this impressive quarter-final display, not to mention his penalty against Australia, and flashes of clever link-play in the semi.

Great memories...they didnt fail to mention any other games i thought were individually breathtaking...unless you dissect the Euro 2000.
However, I remember one match that stays in mind, Roma vs. Udinese 2002, Totti mastermining the match and scores with defenders all over him

He was great last season against Inter as well, when he scored that chipped shot from the edge of the area after running with the ball from the halfway line.

Inter games do see Totti playing well...remember he scored the free kick from 30 odd yards out? 2004/2005 season. Go to http://www.francesco-totti.it to watch it along with other great goals
