And playing on the grandest stage of them all has to be mouth watering for any superstar. Euro is secondary.

Ya, Italy got lucky getting out of that group...but had Totti played in Perrotta's AM position...it would of been much easier!!! Hope he comes back...need to see our #10 back with Italia!!!

Back to the office for Totti...
Quote:
Totti Returns To Training
The Eternal City’s beloved number 10 continues to work towards recovery, reappearing at his team’s practice ground today in Rome...
AS Roma star Francesco Totti returned today to the club’s Trigoria training ground. The captain is continuing his rehabilitation process after he underwent surgery on his right knee in late April.
Within the next few days Totti will be visited by the surgeon who has performed all his operations, Pierpaolo Mariani, who will verify the status of his progress.
Next week, er pupone will begin to gradually increase his workload in order to strengthen his muscles and test the responses of his joints.
Totti’s ACL was partially damaged during a match with Livorno in April and was given an estimated recovery time of 4-6 months.

He's had some bad luck with injuries...maybe a sign that he's slowing down...but, Spalletti will need to sub him more this season. Anytime we're winning 2-0 with less then 20 minutes left...sub him. He played too many games injured and it's catching up to him.

right on that, he is going trough a natural process its normal and he is alredy in that stage of slowing down.what we could do now is to look after him more and play him at the right time, right tactics.cant expect much in terms of high week in week out performance but we can tap in to that experience he brings on.
we cant go on putting him on a 30 games per season basis any more.its time we maximize his effectiveness, some thing like what fergie does wth giggs.that takes away the age factor out and at the same time we can keep him fresh for the next challenge.

Totti back on the ball Tuesday 8 July, 2008
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Francesco Totti is well on the way to recovering from his devastating knee injury and today kicked the ball for the first time.
The Roma captain had not tested the ball at his feet since damaging the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
The injury occurred during a 1-1 draw with Livorno on April 19 at Rome's Stadio Olimpico and was predicted to require an eight-month lay-off.
He was not expected to be at this stage yet, but he decided to try kicking the ball during today's solo training session at Trigoria.
Totti has begun his pre-season training two weeks earlier than his Giallorossi teammates in a bid to achieve full fitness as early as possible.
On Wednesday he is due for a check-up with Professor Mariani in the Villa Stuart clinic, where he underwent surgery three months ago.
The Roma hero is expected to be back on the playing field in late September.

first kick, lets hope both him and spalletti takes a wiser approach this time around, we live in the eternal city but we our self are not eternal.
