Roma captain Francesco Totti has returned to training and is enthusiastic about the Giallorossi’s summer transfer campaign.
Totti picked up a serious knee injury while playing against Livorno on April 19 and missed the end of the capital club’s season.
But the talismanic star has enjoyed a speedy recovery and is already running at full pace at Roma’s training ground in Trigoria with the hope of featuring in the Super Cup on August 24.
“I am working with dedication because I want to be ready for the start of the season,” he said. “Everything is going well and I can’t wait to get started again.”
Roma have begun making reinforcements ahead of their 2008-09 Scudetto push and have pounced for the defensive duo of John Arne Riise and Simone Loria.
“I am crossing my fingers for the new arrivals,” Totti stressed.
“Riise and Loria are important reinforcements and they will give us a hand towards our objectives.
“And I’m sure that the transfer campaign won’t finish there. Another big player will be brought in and will present himself as a major force for the new season.”

It has been said that Lippi's return will convince Totti to come out of international retirement for the 2010 World Cup.
He has been out of action since April after damaging the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and is not expected back until at least September.

His Roma teammate De Rossi is definitely a part of the Nazionale's plans and hopes to make up for his miss in the Euro 2008 penalty shoot-out against Spain.

It would be great if he came back...i think the idea of playing in a World Cup would have to motivate anyone. Look at his hard work when he got injured to come back and play in the WC...that passion just doesn't leave you.
