Totti's two goals last night against Torino have put him on 200 for Roma.

Totti: Bias, but not Inter's fault Tuesday 12 February, 2008
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Roma captain Francesco Totti has waded into the debate over refereeing in Serie A by claiming any bias is 'subconscious'.
A series of debatable refereeing decisions, culminating in the award of an offside goal for Inter against Catania on Sunday, have caused uproar in the peninsula.
While the officials are keen to stress that all errors are accidental, it has been suggested by some victims that they are the result of a ‘subconscious bias’ towards the bigger sides.
“I think that there is a bit of subconscious bias,” Totti stated in an interview with Sky Sport.
“Everyone is scared to speak out against Inter at the moment, but if they had the courage to say what they saw it would all be easier.
“I don’t think that Inter as a club come into it,” the World Cup winner clarified. “Their players are great and they are winning on the pitch, even if they are having a little bit of help.”
While Totti was keen to avoid any direct accusations, the frustration of chasing a seemingly invincible side was evident.
“I think it will always be the same with referees,” he lamented. “It used to happen to Juventus and now it’s the Nerazzurri, but I don’t think that Inter have done what the Old Lady did with the telephone calls.
“Referees can make mistakes – it’s not easy to take charge of a game for 90 minutes and not slip up. However, when these mistakes affect the same team it makes you think a little.
“I don’t want to say that games are being falsified, but you train all week yet you know that Inter will win either because of their ability or because of something happening.”

for god sake totti...you will be on the field and still you say its not inters faultt
even the fans know its a bit of too much accidental that they have game after game in succession of so "called accidental refereeing"...

Totti set to face ban? Tuesday 4 March, 2008
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Francesco Totti has been referred to the Italian Football Federation’s disciplinary commission for “having expressed opinions denying the regularity of the championship.”
Totti’s referral is based on statements made by the Roma captain after the Giallorossi’s game with Inter last Wednesday.
It all began after the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 victory at Catania in early February. Asked to comment on the result Er Pupone said: “Inter are strong, but something always happens and they win.
“There is a slight psychological bias on the part of everyone. I don’t want to attack Inter, their players are good and they win on the pitch. But on the field they receive help.”
Totti later qualified his statement, saying: “I don’t think Inter have done what Juventus did in the past.”
Roma then travelled to the Giuseppe Meazza to face the League leaders where Philippe Mexes was sent-off in controversial circumstances and Javier Zanetti equalised after 87 minutes to rob La Magica of a vital three points.
“[Referee Roberto] Rosetti has ruined everything. We played better at San Siro. In the evening I was right to talk about ‘aiutone’ – help,” raged Totti.
“I am disappointed because you train all week and then, you know what? Because they are strong or because something happens, they always win.”
Whether Il Capitano will be banned or fined is up to Stefano Palazzi, the Italian Federation’s magistrate.
Palazzi called Totti into question for “damaging directly or indirectly the reputation, prestige and credibility of the federal institutions and the operative organs of the FIGC.”
Italy’s referees and their designator, Pierluigi Collina, have come under heavy criticism recently after mistakes by a young and raw batch of officials cost a number of teams – most notably Juventus at Reggina where the Bianconeri were denied three penalties.
Collina is responsible for the designation and the education of Italy’s refereeing class, which is comprised of new and inexperienced recruits after the Calciopoli scandal seriously depleted the peninsula’s pool of top class match officials

utter crap, he is as frustrated as every one, except inter though
collina and co better clean up their act.

Totti answers Big Brother Tuesday 11 March, 2008
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Roma captain Francesco Totti made a surprise appearance in Italy’s Big Brother house yesterday evening.
The legendary No 10 took time out from his busy schedule to help the producers of the show play a trick on a contestant who is fanatical supporter of the Giallorossi and Totti.
The 31-year-old then went into the diary room for a question and answer session where presenter Alessia Marcuzzi asked him to nominate the two worst people in football.
“I have a good long list,” Totti chuckled. “But it is better not to name names. If I make a judgement it will be used against me.”
Er Pupone was ordered to appear in front of the Italian FA after he made a series of ‘inflammatory’ comments last week.
Totti believed that Roma suffered at the hands of the referee in their match against Inter, which ended 1-1 after some questionable officiating nearly two weeks ago.
“I don’t want to attack Inter - their players are good and they win on the pitch,” commented Totti. “But on the field they received help.”
In the studio Il Capitano gave the audience a look into his private life.
“I watch Big Brother,” he admitted. “My wife Ilary and I don’t watch it when we are in bed. We lie down, with slippers on, like any other mere mortals.”
“My seduction techniques? Simplicity and being normal.”
But when asked if a girl pleaded with him to stop going to the stadium in order to save their relationship, Totti’s priorities were made clear.
“If that was the case we would leave it be,” he grinned.

Totti: Forza Lazio? Never! Saturday 29 March, 2008
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lazio can help Roma win the Scudetto this evening, but Francesco Totti can’t bring himself to cheer on his rivals!
The Biancocelesti take on leaders Inter tonight at the Olimpico and a positive result could help Roma close the four-point gap at the top.
The possibility of the Serie A title is still not enough to convince Er Pupone to pull on a Lazio scarf.
“I can never cheer on Lazio, there is absolutely no doubt about it! Even if the table says otherwise, because it would be convenient if Inter did lose.
“If someone asks me to say Forza Lazio, I reply no thanks…”
Yet the rivalry between these two clubs goes even deeper than that, according to former Lazio Coach Alberto Zaccheroni.
He was on the Biancocelesti bench on May 5, 2002 when they beat Inter 4-2 to hand Juventus the Scudetto on the last day of the season – although Roma were also in the running that weekend.
“The pressure soon started from the Lazio fans and the talk radio stations. There were even threats and in some cases suggestions like ‘shoot at the advertising boards,’” revealed Zac.
“In fact, I had to deal with many players pulling out. I had to rely on those who would not back down, people like Jaap Stam, Giuliano Giannichedda and Dejan Stankovic.”
Inter had actually been on 2-2 at half-time and only needed a draw to take the title, but in the second half conceded from Diego Simeone and Simone Inzaghi to lose 4-2.
“There were two decisive factors that day. Inter were psychologically unprepared for any difficulties. They were convinced they had already won and the fans spent the afternoon sewing the badge on to their scarves.
“Secondly, the Lazio fans jeered Karel Poborsky because they considered him an ‘enemy’ as he was friends with Pavel Nedved.
“The lad heard the chants when he was in the players’ tunnel and was so angry he became incredibly motivated. In fact, as soon as he scored the two goals he ran under the Lazio fans and insulted them.”
If anything, Zaccheroni sees Inter in a worse condition now than they were in 2002.
“At the time it was a psychological issue, as they were convinced the Scudetto was in their pocket and collapsed at the first sign of trouble.
“This time I get the feeling the psychological issues are joined by physical ones. After losing to Liverpool there was a short-circuit in the Inter system.”

Totti can taste the Scudetto
Sunday 13 April, 2008
Francesco Totti is back against Udinese this afternoon and insists Roma “believe we can win the Scudetto.”
The captain has been out of action since suffering a thigh strain during the 1-1 draw at Cagliari three weeks ago and was expected to skip today’s game too, but made a surprise recovery.
“I feel great, trained well and the leg no longer hurts,” he told the Corriere dello Sport.
“I am like a kid again, you just need to see the way I train! This week I even did the step exercises, I felt 10 years younger.”
It is just the news the Giallorossi were waiting for after he missed both legs of their Champions League quarter-final exit to Manchester United.
They are now entirely focused on catching Inter in the Scudetto race and this could be a decisive round.
Roma travel to high-flying Udinese in a game live on Five at 14.00, while this evening the Nerazzurri welcome fourth-placed Fiorentina.
“We believe we can win the Scudetto, but to do that we have to win every game starting from today, even if it will be very difficult.”

now thats what we should be doing

Unless Inter drop points, Totti can keep dreaming. The Scudetto for Roma doesn't look good...Inter are back on track now. Roma need a miracle!!!!

wow.....now i really see inter finishing top, they just turned back on and even on fire after their "little" scare.
it looks very doubtful for us but, this was an even better season then last since we really improved and chased them like shadows compared to last season.

Roma definitely improved from last season...and Inter began to be more human this year. Shame that Roma lost to Lazio and lost key points throughout the season, otherwise they would of been top of the table.

Looks like Totti's injury he sustained today was much worse then expected. You could feel the tension surrounding the medical staff as Totti was helped off the pitch. Seems he may require surgery to his knee. Seasons over for Totti.
Wish him well and a quick recovery!!!

That is the whole point of being on top. You have to be consistent, and Roma have not been consistent.
Inter have struggled for a month, but still managed to pick up points, and only dropped two. One against Napoli, then Juve.
Losing Totti is HUGE. That could break them for this year.

I'm very pleased with Roma this season. They've managed to battle with Inter until the final weeks of the season. Inter dominated the league for 3/4 of the season, even with injuries. Roma lost Totti for quite some time this season aftyer his injury against Sporting and still managed to keep pace with Inter. Roma are a human team...they lose/draw on occasion. Inter have been a winning machine the past two seasons and it's mentally and physically draining for a team like Roma.
Seeing De Rossi collapse on the field as the final whistle went, was heart breaking to me. Roma battled all season long and fell short...but i admire the character of this team.

Totti 'out for six months'
Saturday 19 April, 2008
Roma captain Francesco Totti could be out for six months after tests showed torn ligaments in his right knee.
Although the official announcement will only be made tomorrow, Giallorossi Coach Luciano Spalletti is certain the worst has happened.
“With all likelihood it is a sprained right knee with damage to the anterior cruciate ligament,” explained the tactician.
Totti was stretchered off 39 minutes into today’s 1-1 draw with Livorno and rushed straight to the Villa Stuart clinic for tests.
The initial reports coming out of the hospital suggest the diagnosis has been confirmed and Totti will require surgery.
His season is over and he could well be sidelined for up to six months with this serious knee injury.
“I think Francesco is not in good shape and I am rather worried,” admitted patron Rosella Sensi.
“It’s a great shame and adds to a very sad day. In any case, we will not give in on the Scudetto. I wish to thank the players and the Coach.”

I predict Totti will be back by September!!!

Totti: I'll come back stronger
Sunday 20 April, 2008
Francesco Totti will have knee ligament surgery today, ruling him out for five to six months. “I’ll be back better and stronger than before.”
He was stretchered off during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Livorno and was diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
“I was scared at the moment of the injury, as I felt a ‘crack,’ but now we will evaluate things carefully with Professor Mariani and see what is to be done,” he said.
“I am a little down, but I have been through worse. Now we’ll see if I need to have an operation. If that | | | | |
