I dont think so either...but the thrill of playing a WC tournament may be too good to pass up. Slim chance, but you never know.

Quote:
Veteran Italian tactician Carlo Mazzone expects Roma captain Francesco Totti to end his career in a deep midfield position.

Totti has surprised his former Giallorossi Coach by excelling as a lone striker, following his switch from an attacking midfielder, but Mazzone expects a backwards step at some point in the future.

“I really didn’t think that he would one day play as a centre-forward,” noted Mazzone. “However, I think that he will end his career in a role just in front of the defence.

“Let’s say that he will do what Andrea Pirlo presently does for Milan and for Italy. Francesco is a player of immense quality, I think he can play anywhere.”

Turning to Roma, the club Mazzone has always supported, the former Brescia boss has been delighted with their start to the season.

“It’s so great to see this Roma side win, entertain and more importantly not make their extraordinary fans suffer,” added Carletto.

“Coach Luciano Spalletti deserves the most credit as he is a tactician who is very prepared and knows how to create team spirit. The latter aspect is very important when it comes to the changing room.”

The capital giants are the only side in Serie A with a 100 per cent record and have yet to concede a goal this term.

They also made a winning start in the Champions League by beating Dynamo Kiev 2-0 on Wednesday. They’ll entertain great rivals Juventus on Sunday.

Well it wasn't that long ago that Totti claimed he'll play on until the age of 38.

If your wife was that hot you would let mher call the shots too. But i dont think that he will retire that early...but if roma win the scudetto anytime soon over the next couple of season that could lead him to want to retire, or if they happen to win a CL title anytime soon too. Alot of retirements are prompted by winning a major trophy

yeah no doubt on that, the wc was a major pivotal moment for totti and he feels he has done his country, and himself proud by winning it and now a happy retiry from internationals.

A happy household is a happy wife. Both need to make sacrifices in order for the marriage to work. Anyone that is in a long term relationship knows this....and if you don't, you're most likely single. I'm sure Duke is quite aware of this through his experience, right Duke?

Totti doesn't need to work anymore and nor should he. He has financial security to support generations after generations of Totti's. If we all won the lottery and had multi million dollars, would we work such a difficult job that risks your physical health for the rest of your life? I know i wouldn't. Let's remember that soccer is his place of employment. He still can compete and be a force in soccer, so he will continue on for a few years. Totti should take a high power management position with the club in a few years. Over the past 2-3 years, his pace has drastically declined. Especially after his injury. If i had his money, i would retire at an age where i can enjoy spending the best moments of being a father. Watching his children grow up and being an active father in their life. He's a family man, i respect any decision he makes.

It was a bitter blow when Totti limped off with an ankle injury and it is not yet known how bad the damage is to his right ankle.

“We’ll have to wait and see tomorrow what the tests say after a few hours. His ankle and foot have been bandaged, but thankfully it is not the one that underwent surgery.”
