In all honesty...i think they look cartoon-ish. Or like X-Men. I think he should make them more realistic, opposed to fictional. Romans were real life people, and this guy looks like he's fighting Spiderman. Well drawn, but not a Roman. I think something like Totti's would go the trick, no.

Ya he draws more comic book style...I know what your saying though...I think i want something in between...tottis tatto for me doesnt cut it...its to basic...to skinny whimpy...and in all honesty if you look at his...its very cartoonish as well. the guys face...but the body is more realistic.

I want my guy more muscular..strong...mythical...you know? Like the movie 300...i know they arent italian they are spartan, but im going for that type look. If you think about it though...in medevil times...the gladiators, and roman soldiers...tried to make themselves look really muscular and strong with their sculpted body armor and what not...

Please keep the comments coming i want to know what you guys have to say.

And keep in mind these are rough sketches...they guy i get will look more traditional...he will have the leather strap like "skirt" type thing...chest aromour...things like that. But let me know what else to add please! or subtract!

Heres an upclose looks...you can see it looks like hes just wearing a wife beater tank top...and his face is very like wierd...and the muscles are still unrealistic like mine, just a bit smaller

now aaron the one totti has looks great but wth the skills your friend has i bet he can make it better

those earlier ones are cool but as dave said a bit cartonish.that earlier one reminds me of disney's hercules cartoon.

a bit more serious look + a bit of rough looking wth a bit more of muscle on the earlier ones will make it look real and roman!!

I agree with Duke...i would use Totti's tat as a template. His tat is traditional and displays a true Roman. It's not detailed enough and is not the greatest quality...but i would use that format and add from there. You can watch many movies from ancient Rome that shows the gladiators battle. But up to you though..whatever you like. Just remember that Romans back then, didn't have steroids etc so they weren't that "ripped" you know. Do the tattoo artists draw samples for you or no? or do you have to pay for that? i would look into that...i wouldn't mind paying a couple hundred bucks by an artist to draw a few samples for me...as i'm going to have the tattoo forever..just a thought.

They will do it for free if your getting the tattoo done by them...So if i take something in my buddy draws, and i say, ya i want this...just draw him with a little less muscle...they can do it. But i have to say i think i like the really muscular look. Tottis guy is defined by not ripped. I want my guy to have more muscle then his, but maybe not as much as my buddy is giving him...well see...hes bringing me the other tomorrow he says, with the guys facing forward...i think once there is more detail, it wont look as cartoonish, or as muscular. It will also have armour, and the leather strap skirt type thing.

one thing make sure you get the right roman outfit on the drawings.some might confuse them with spartans or greeks.they might look alike for but there are differences if you know the roman history.check on that one also aaron.
