Van Nistelrooy scored yesterday, so he should have 46 points 6 points behind Totti?

He's 2 goals behind Totti I believe...meaning he needs to score 2 to tie Totti.

Let's hoipe Nistelrooy doesn't score!!!!
Quote:
Totti closes in on Golden Boot
Sunday 27 May, 2007
Francesco Totti is leading the race for the European Golden Boot and only Ruud Van Nistelrooy could still rain on his parade.

The award – also sometimes called the Golden Shoe – is given to the player who has scored the most goals in the continent’s League football.

Not simply a list, it is decided on points awarded considering the difficulty of getting goals in a particular Division.

With his brace in the 4-3 win over Messina this afternoon, Totti has notched up 26 goals and 52 points.

That puts him above previous leader Afonso Alves, who finished the Dutch Eredivisie with 34 goals for Heerenveen, classed as 51 points.

The only League still going is in Spain and so Real Madrid striker Van Nistelrooy has the opportunity to catch Totti.

So far the Dutchman has scored 23 goals, which are worth 46 points in the Golden Boot standings, and there are two games left to play.

If Totti wins, he will become only the second Italian ever to take this trophy. The first was Luca Toni, who bagged 31 goals for Fiorentina last season.

Future looks bright...a few top players and Roma can push for the title.
Quote:
Totti looks to future
Monday 28 May, 2007
Francesco Totti’s crowning as the Serie A Capocannoniere leaves him still in the race for the European Golden Boot but he is already focused on the next season.

The Giallorossi ended the championship in second place behind record-breaking Inter and the captain scored 26 Serie A goals, which earned him the Capocannoniere title and might be enough to secure the Golden Shoe if Ruud Van Nistelrooy doesn’t catch him in the final Liga games with Real Madrid.

“This has been an amazing season, one that we will always remember,” said Totti after the 4-3 win over Messina, in which he scored a brace.

“We had some important objectives to reach and we did that. Inter achieved great things and it was very difficult to keep pace, but we arrived second, we won the Coppa Italia, I am the Capocannonniere and I can still win the Golden Boot,” added the No 10, who also missed his seventh penalty of the season on Sunday.

“As to the future, I think that the upcoming market will be crucial in view of the next season.

“The club and the Coach will decide which signings to make in order to strengthen the squad. We need to pick up where we left off this year,” concluded Totti.

Luciano Spalletti confirmed that the club does not intend to let Daniele De Rossi go, despite the interest from Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti.

“They don’t need him, they would have enough men to field three teams if they were to buy all the good players,” commented the Giallorossi tactician.

“We do not want to sell De Rossi and I am sure that the club will do all it can to avoid his departure. In any case he is an expensive player, if someone is willing to pay that much we could always re-invest the money, but the plan is to keep him here,” added Spalletti.

Arent there gonna be Euro qualifiers interrupting the Liga? If so, I hope RVN may lack energy, or the other Madrid players so he doesnt get good chances
