Roma appeal Stadio ban
Quote:
Roma have confirmed that they will appeal against the decision to ban them from their home stadium in the Coppa Italia.
The Giallorossi have been told that they must play their next cup tie, against Fiorentina, on a neutral ground and behind closed doors.
The capital outfit were handed the punishment after a handful of their fans launched flares at last Thursday’s match against Siena, forcing the game to be suspended for an hour.
But Roma have announced that they are going to fight the ban, with lawyer Antonio Conte lodging an appeal by the end of today.
Roma have already confirmed that they will take their claim to the CAF court if their first attempt to get the suspension lifted proves negative.
The club were already forced to play four League matches away from Rome last season, while the outfit also played two Champions’ League games behind closed doors earlier this term.

Wow, this is the first that I'm hearing about this. I think Italian FA is getting tired of the troublemakers in Roma.

No they're blaming us for everything because we have a reputation.
It was the siena fans as well as the Roma ones who were throwing flares, will they get some kind of ban?
What about Lazio fans who threw that firework that nearly maimed Totti, or the bottle that hit Cassano?
Or the Parma or Juve fans who hada fight a few weeks ago?
NOTHING!
Normally when we get a ban we do deserve it (except that CL one) but this one, we were NOT the only guilty ones. We're simply being punished because we're Roma. This appeal SHOULD be allowed

Roma win second appeal
Roma have won the right for fans to attend their next Coppa Italia game against Fiorentina.
After winning one appeal to have the match played at the Olimpico, and not at a neutral venue, the club have now also successfully argued that their quarter-final encounter shouldn’t be played behind closed doors.
The club had been handed the punishments after fan trouble at last week’s Siena clash caused the tie to be suspended for over an hour.
Roma this afternoon took the matter to CAF, an independent appeals body, to argue that supporters should be permitted into the arena.
They presented a number of precedents in which other clubs have turned ‘behind closed doors’ rulings into a fine.
The actions of Roma captain Francesco Totti, who pleaded with tifosi to stop throwing flares onto the pitch, was also cited in the hearing to his and the club’s merit

well looks like they fought hard and won in the end. Though dose this mean that Fiorentina can or cannot have their fans attend the game as well?

It's a small minority! And I think it's a ridiculously minor offence to punish over but an appeal is pointless and it's not like it's a tough penalty...an appeal could make it worse.
