Shocked Ref Was biased by Totti

Francesco Totti has accused referee Anders Frisk of being biased in the UEFA Champions League game against Dynamo Kiev that ended when the official was left bloodied by a missile from the crowd.

With Kiev leading 1-0 at half time, and Roma rightly reduced to 10 man after Philippe Mexes bizarre kick out at an opponent, Frisk was struck by an object as he left the pitch.

The game was subsequently suspended, and Roma are anxiously awaiting their punishment.

However, Roma captain Francesco Totti has judged the time right to slam Frisk for being biased against him and refusing to explain his decisions.

"He was biased," Totti told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Against Dynamo Kiev, he never whistled in my favour and he refused to talk to me.

"I would say that the captain has a right to talk to the referee."

Totti is no stranger to controversy, having been banned in the summer's European Championship for spitting at an opponent, and certainly is not one to hide his views under a bushel.

However, Totti's comments seem particularly ill-timed with his club still awaiting Uefa's punishment, which could see them expelled from European competition.

Roma were already being closely watched after crowd trouble in the derby against Lazio, but Totti believes that the two incidents are not indicative of the club's behaviour.

"In my opinion, there is a difference between the two things," adds Totti.

"The first time was a thing made by supporters, this isn't.

"A fool threw a coin which hit a referee."

Love the way that this has been twisted. As per usual, Totti was asked his opinion but then this translation has made it seem like he was just complaining. The fullinterview was really insightful, also Frisk's performance wasn't good and the number of times Totti was fouled was getting silly. Also we had 2 wrongly given offside descisions.

Like i staited before there always has to be a sour sprout in a bunch and unfortunetly this time it has to be Roma. See the way i look at it is the fact that Italian teams are too good so they have to do this kinda stuff to keep us down and what not. I mean look at the WC its so true. Was it determined what was throwen, in one report i read it was a coin then another said a bottle and another said a lighter; do they know which supporters threw it?

It was a €1 coin. They have photos of the guy and an appeal has been launched to find him.

Totti needs to start performing conistatntly in europe. In games such as Valencia a few seasons ago and almost every time we've played Real Madrid he's been fantastic but then in some games he just disappears. It's a shame, i would say 'luckily cassano doesn't disappear in big games' but recently he just disappears from training.

Just need to pull ourselves together.
