17 years, no win at the Riazor is a bit extreme. I'm hoping this is Guardado's breakthrough year but I think Deportivo look a little bit worse than last season so I think Madrid will get at least a draw.

HT 1-0 to SuperDepor. Mista headed in a Guardado cross to make it 1-0. Both sides have also hit the bar, Madrid have slightly more possession but are frustrated so far.

Back underway...
And Real are level!! A simple goal as Raul slips in van Nistelrooy who calmly finishes for what could be the first of many goals this season.
Depor hit straight back. Again it comes from a set-piece - Direct from a corner Lopo gets in ahead of Pepe and Ramos to flick home a fine header.
It is all happening now - Diarra gets his head on a cross from Marcelo it is heading for the corner of the net but Aranzubia gets down to save.
Guti goes in the book for a foul on Mista.
