Default Roberto Soldado to Getafe

Getafe Confirm Soldado Arrival
Quote:
Getafe CF president Angel Torres has confirmed the signing of Real Madrid striker Soldado on a four-year deal...

It's as close to official as can be. Speaking to Cadena Ser radio, Torres stated that the young Spanish international will be a Getafense player tomorrow.

The striker will officially pen a four-year contract on Wednesday morning, becoming the eighth signing for the suburban club this summer.

Geta will pay an initial fee of around €4m, with a further €2m due based on various incentives and sell-on clauses. As yet no buy-back clause for Madrid has been mentioned.

The 22-year-old forward was said to be eager ot sign for Osasuna on a permanent basis, having enjoyed a fine season on loan there in 2006-07. However, Geta appear to have won the race for the player's signature.

A loan spell in Pamplona was said to be a possibility, but Soldado, having spent virtually al of last season as a benchwarmer at Madrid, seemed eager to seal a permanent contract elsewhere in order to secure a fresh start. The Valencian forward managed just one Liga first XI appearance last season.

Geta now have a balanced forward line, with Ikechucwu Uche, Manu del Moral and now Soldado serving as the three biggest names.

Soldado joins Esteban Granero, a loan signing from last season, in being a Madrid alumnus at the Alfonso Pérez.

returning from osasuna to madrid was a big mistake for soldado's career, because when he was still there, he was considered one of the best strikers in la liga and a possible NT player. instead, he spent 1 frustrating season at the bench.

he's still young, he might bounce back in getafe.

It was a personal mistake, yes.

Soldado really wanted to be in Real Madrid. In Christmas time last year Madrid wanted to loan him out, but he denied it and wanted to fight to reach a place in the starting lineup....even Van Nistelrooy, Raul, Robinho, Saviola and Baptista all were in front of him.

And the same with Saviola and Baptista. Both of them will NOT be a starter for Real Madrid and both have good offers from big clubs in Europe, but they almost denying to leave the spanish capital.

Good to get rid of Soldado. Now its just Baptista and Salgado again for me. I want them to be sold once and for all.

It's a shame that you guys never appreciated Soldado's pontecial.

But at least he's at a club were he'll be given the chance to show his true colors.

Its a shame that I have to explain why he didn't get his chance.

Real Madrid is not a kindergarten. On this level you have to play the best men to achieve success from day one.

ManUtd can't put C.Ronaldo on the bench because D.Fletcher shall get time to develop, so he may be good one day.

Roberto Soldado is and will NEVER be a starter for any big clubs in Europe. That he stayed for Madrid last season was his own desire.
