Samp Agree Deal With Real Madrid For Cassano
Samp Agree Deal With Real Madrid For Cassano
Quote:
Antonio Cassano will stay at Sampdoria on a permanent deal after the club agreed a deal with Real Madrid according to Sky Sport Italia.
Il Talentino di Bari has been a revelation this term and his brilliant performances for the Blucerchiati were rewarded with a call up to La Nazionale.
His club have been working hard to make his stay at Marassi a permanent one and it seems as if they have succeded. According to the latest reports from Italy, Sky Sport Italia have claimed that Sampdoria have reached a deal with Real Madrid which will see the striker stay on a permanent basis following his season on loan.
The Blucerchiati received a fax from the Bernabeu this afternoon and it seems as if Cassano arrives for no fee but there are a few clauses.
Samp will have to pay Real €7m if they sell Cassano within the next year or €5m if they sell the player within three years. The striker will earn €3m per season at Sampdoria after accepting a pay cut.
The striker's agent is currently on his way to the Azzurri training camp in Coverciano so that Cassano can sign his new contract. Samp are expected to announce the deal within the next few hours.

Best for both parts. I will then never forget Cassanos 1-0 goal against A.Madrid in 2006 who was my first match live.

One of his few goals he ever scored for Real Madrid?
Soldado did a hella lot more than him in much less time. I know he didn't get a break this year but i'm sure he too will show his worth somewhere else.
Anyways, best call for both.

Cassano went unfortunately in a row with Capello, who destroyed his Real Madrid career. Cassano has and have a better potential than Soldado - who never will be a starter for a big gun.
Cassano is perfect for Sampdoria, and the other way around. He need to be 'the star' and get calm and time on the field.

The only goal I remember of him was a weighted Roberto Carlos cross from the left which Cassano headed in at the start of the game, can't remember who it was against.
He's failed expectations twice so far, at Sampdoria less will be expected of him and he's done well so far.

It was the goal against Atletico at Bernabeu.
He also scored in his first match for Real Madrid, and did an very important assist who secured Madrid one point at Vicente Calderon. Madrid had not won the league without that goal.

I wish him the best !! Cassano can be great, all he needs is to stay calm, and concentrate on football.
If Real had brought him back, I wouldn't have been sad. In his shape, bringing him back for free could have been better than buying a new striker (Villa or Huntlaar..)

I know he didn't start for Real Madrid when he was wearing his No.27 shirt but he did a lot more than Cassano in much less time. He was always brought on for the last 15-10 minutes and ended up scoring a goal, more than one occasion.
The only goal i remember from Cassano was his Copa del Rey goal vs Real Betis away.
Why Soldado didn't get a chance this season, who knows.

Nah, he didn't do that much. Cassano scored more goals than him, but Soldado did a great season for Osasuna in his loan periode.
Why Soldado didn't get a chance this season? Four reasons for that.
1. Raul
2. Van Nistelrooy
3. Gonzalo Higuain
4. Javier Saviola

Soldado
scored 1 goal in the 4-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in Copa del Rey match
scored 1 goal in the dying minutes to equalize vs Osasuna in La Liga
socred 1 goal in the 3-2 victory over Racing in La Liga
scored 1 goal in the dying minutes for Real Madrid to win 2-1 over Olympiakos
Cassano
scored 1 goal in the 2-1 victory over Atletico de Madrid
scored 1 goal in the 1-0 away victory over Real Betis in Copa del Rey
*And we can always add the drama with Capello
