Al Nasr Thrash Real Madrid In Friendly

Quote:

Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nasr defeated Spanish champions Real Madrid 4-1 in an exhibition match in Riyadh on Tuesday evening.

Al Nasr lost 3-1 to the European powerhouse at the 2000 Club World Cup and allowed a number of players from other Saudi clubs to line-up against the visitors.

Real took the lead through Arjen Robben five minutes after the break.

Saudi Arabia striker Malek Maaz equalised after 54 minutes and then the hosts went to town.

Iraqi star Nashat Akram gave the Saudis the lead just a minute later and on the hour Saud Khariri extended the lead.

There was still time for Maaz to grab his second and his team’s fourth to send the fans home happy.

Don't want to sound like I came here for bitching. So don't get me wrong.

I know it's a friendly, I know it counts for nothing, and all that.

But it's ashaming, isn't it?

So this was a part of Pre-Season for 08/09?

Madrid played unmotivated against this team and IMO I think this match were 'fixed' in honor for Al Nasr and their honored retired player.

Yeah, I remember people laughed about Real Madrids 'Real' preseason before this season. They lost several matches and people laughed of Schuster, Calderon and the Real Madrid players. We all know what happened.

well i guess.
but after you come off beating your fiercest rivals 4-1, winning the league in such style and celebrating all night you don't really care what happens in a friendly against a team you've never heard of
