Almeria 2-0 Real Madrid
Sat, Feb. 2, 2008
Primera División 19:00 UK - Estadio Mediterraneo
Madrid have won their last 8 La Liga matches in a row. Surely high flying Almeria can't stop them?

I'm sure I heard RVN and Saviola are out of this so every chance.
Higuian isn't as deadly as Ruud.

Just read that Real Madrid have picked up 56 points out of 63 this season, That's such an unbelievably high amount, not even Barca can contend with that at the moment.
Also I think Barca have the La Liga record for most games won in a row. I think Barca got 11 wins in a row, Madrid are close with 8 wins.

1-0 Almeria...
Juanito scored after a quick free-kick that caught madrid unprepared... at first the referee wasn't sure if the ball had passed the line, but then he counted the goal.
legal goal or not... madrid are going to end up winning this so why bother arguing?

Deserved but this is not the REAL Madrid.
Heinze, Pepe and Metzelder all out.
Robben still on the bench after the injure.
Fernando Gago suspended while Diarra has just went back from African Cup.
Van Nistelrooy injured while Saviola backup is still out.
The formation went wrong.
I do not like it and still keep Barca as Champions in the end. Only six points now and it looks like Madrid are going slowly down.

Wow. I'm gobsmacked. I didn't see this coming. Probably Almeria's best result in their history. Unai Emery has done a great job in getting Almeria up to 7th this season.
I just hope that Barca can take advantage of this Madrid slip up now.

IMO these results come in handy as it gives your players a reality check.
Although tbh Madrid were coming on to a result like this considering some of their games where the opposition has the better chances but Madrid win.

we were bound to lose sometime. If we had lost last week which seemed much more possible, and barca won which also very possible, we'd have the same lead,
and it seems better like that.
It could good be a good wake up call, that we still have to play our best every game. But as pennywise said, we have loads of injuries, suspensions.. we have done well to get so many points with these.
'Only six points now and it looks like Madrid are going slowly down.'
after one loss after we've won 9 something games in a row, that's abit dramatic

indeed. the commentator was talking about it during the match...
why is everyone so surprised? if its because madrid looked bad yesterday then you must have not seen more than 4 of the last 9 games of madrid. and if it's because madrid dropped points, then yeah thats surprising, we got used to madrid getting maximum points every match, even (especially) in matches like that where they don't create anything...
but this isn't changing anything about the league of course.

Every big guns like ManUtd, Chelsea, Inter, Juve, Barca, Madrid, etc are winning or taking a point on bad days. That's the hallmark of good teams. They win on good days, on avarage days and bad days. They only got a few defeats through a season.
Before the Almeria match, Real Madrid had won nine matches on row and played one draw. That's impressing..no matter what.
But I'm worried now. The injure situation is bad in Madrid now. Nistelrooy and Ramos out with injure last night too and its only six points down to Barca who looks to win and win on bad days too.
IMO Barca will reach Madrid pretty soon and win the league. Mark my words.

Well, Chelsea are not dependent on money since you have Roman in your back who pay for what he want..no matter what.
The deal had been good for many other clubs, except clubs like Chelsea, since Robben has a giant potensial and one of the best in his position.
Btw, Robben is not injured today, but Madrid are building him up slowly.
