Diego advisor: He couldn't turn down Real Madrid
Quote:
Werder Bremen midfielder Diego wants a move to Real Madrid.
The Brazil international is a confirmed target for Real coach Bernd Schuster and his advisor, Fabiano Papeig, told AS: "It is frustrating for him to be in a team in which he cannot win anything.
"He is ambitious and has aspirations and in Madrid these would be fulfilled. He wants to conquer Europe, and although he is very happy in Bremen, he also wants to win titles.
"He would welcome a move to Madrid."
Diego's father, Djair Ribas da Cunha, also said: "It is very difficult for him to say 'no' to Madrid, but nobody has been in contact with me. For December, I see it being complicated, in the summer it would be easier ..."

And we welcome him to Madrid too I'd be happy to see him in Madrid, we need a player like him . . .

Tribalfootball = Shit
Though it's true that Diego will be on the wish list of many top clubs. Tbh I don’t mind if you get him, that means you won’t get nasri Don't misunderstand me. Diego is the better player atm, but nasri is a player i really like and i don't want him to go to real madrid.

Can't believe you guys believe those crap reports..
Forget Diego. He's staying in Bremen, at least until summer 2009.

So what ?? That's the right time for a player like Diego to move for a major club. .
+ If Bremen doesn't sell him in summer 2008, he will go for free on summer 2009 so it's his last year at Bremen

Actually, you can find a related thread in goal.com too
Why don't have Nari and Diego together ??
By the way don't forget we have Sneijder in the same position so it can be either Sneijder - Nasri, or Sneijder - Diego, but it doesn't matter to me, because both are great . . .

You're wrong dude!
Diego extended his contract in the summer.
His contract now expires in 2011.

If you're demanding so much, we will have Nasri instead of Diego

Nasri has yet to develop.
He can't fuck with Diego, yet.

Werder Chief: I Would Let Diego Join Madrid
Quote:
Werder Bremen president Jürgen Born has revealed that if Diego really does want to join Real Madrid then he would be prepared to let him go.
The Brazilian midfielder has been linked with a move to the Bernabéu in recent months and has admitted that he would one day like to play for one of European football's major clubs.
While Born does not want Diego to go anywhere, he admitted that it would be difficult to prevent the player from going if he really wanted to.
"We do not even want to think about," the Werder supremo told Cadena SER radio station. "But if Diego really wanted to go to Real Madrid I would not oppose him going."
Despite that, Born stated that he will everything he can to persuade the 22-year-old to stay at the Weserstadion for as long as possible.
"Diego is an important player," he continued. "He would only leave if he wanted to go and we were not able to keep him.
"But we are going to do everything possible to keep him and I do not want to imagine him not playing for my team."

You'd have to pay something like 40m € or more.. considering that Pepe went for 30m and Robben for 32m, Werder won't let Diego move to Madrid in case they offer a very good amount of cash..
You would be better of signing van der Vaart who would be a lot cheaper, about half of what Diego may cost

But Diego >> Van Der Vaart . . .
I think he deserves 50m !! not only 40m !! Diego is a future project !!. . .

Not really. The difference between Diego and van der Vaart is very slim, heck I'd prefer to have van der Vaart on my team than Diego. Diego may be younger, but van der vaart is a lot more experienced and he is the type of player you need.
I highly doubt Schuster will drop Raul, so you would play with Sneidjer-Diarra-Diego, which has absolutely no balance and would make your defence struggle even more.
I wouldn't sign Diego just now, I would wait until he is 24/25.

signing diego can justify any price for real madrid atm. diego teaming up with robinho can be fatal, especially under schuster.
