I agree with LAF, Drogba-Nistelrooy would never work. I actually think they are better as lone strikers (I don't count Raul as striker, he is sort of AM now)

Basically Madrid lost him to Barca as that was the only club he wanted to join (as United found out) and Madrid tried to make out they rejected the player so they didn't look in a weak position but they ended up looking like arseholes (again).
Similar to them "withdrawing" their interest in Kaka because Kaka had no intention of joining Madrid and turned down their advances so many times.

There are some quiet days in Madrid and La Liga these days, and the newspapers who has to sell papers to earn money, must speculate and create some headlines and topics.
Ruud Van Nistelrooy is one of the best strikers that have been in the white kit, and he will for sure get a new contract pretty soon. (If things will go bad, then Drogba is a possible target) according to media.
Raul has not been so good as 2003. Van Nistelrooy a giant + players like Javier Saviola and Gonzalo Higuain is a part of the future. Baptista and Soldado is still in the club. Can't see Madrid using a fortune on Drogba in January or so long as Raul/Van Nistelrooy is in the club.
And to comment this Ronaldinho myth in a serious way. Florentino Perez wanted David Beckham to join Real Madrid in 2003 (even he had Luis Figo in the squad and Zidane as OM) Ronaldo-Raul were the duo and there were never an official bid on Ronaldinho (even he for sure was on the list in the spanish capital) The places were busy and on that time, Ronaldinho had not showed his best skills yet.
However, if we can turn back time, Ronaldinho over Becks anyday, even the Englishman were a great and healthy person for Los Merengues.
About Kaka, he wants to play for Real Madrid one day, and he had said yes if AC Milan had accepted the bid. But Kaka is loyal and do not want to 'ask to leave' and get unpopular. Its up to Milan, not Kaka.
