Presentation of Sneijder and Drenthe
Real Madrid and Ajax Amsterdam have reached an agreement for the transfer of Dutch player Wesley Sneijder to the Spanish club for the following five seasons.

>> More will come later. Looks like Sneijder and Drenthe will be presented the coming days. Very exciting player to get.

Great buy. Robben was on our bench today well above it sititng next to his BF John Terry, I though Real said 48 hours they have Robben hmmm, he could still leave, but something telling me it's gonna be for around 30 + million pounds, which he is not worth.

Because he's so damn lazy, incredible on the ball but without it u may as well be playing with 10 men.
I'm glad Sneijder's moved, I haven't seen much of it but he's highly rated so I'm glad to be able to watch more of him.

Not many good players left in Dutch league now.
They lost Babel,Sneijder and Alex in one summer.
Gained Makaay though, if Huntelaar and Farfan left , god it could be like french league.

We still have Alves, Stam, Gomes, and more players who you have probably never heard of, like Suarez (Ajax paid 8m to Groningen to get him, nearly the same what they paid for Huntelaar)....plus what about the signings of Pelle and Hofland? And like unitedfan said, we'll have more players breaking through.
Sneijder is a very good player, i'm looking forward to seeing him play

J.M Guti can be a majestic player, but he is HORRIBLE unstable. Its great to have an alternativ in Wesley Sneijder (who also can play on the wing)
And he has a good deathball foot. Madrid have lost both Beckham and Carlos....Figo and Zidane the last two years...and that's why Wesley can be an important brick with his freekicks.
Arjen Robben (or another LM) can still come. Drenthe can also play there but I think Madrid also work to bring in one more player in that position. Robben..? I don't know...it looks like he will stay in London, but you never know. Last day, Ajax went out and said that Sneijders deal to Madrid had collapsed.

You could at some point see a Dutch front 4 for Madrid next season:
Robben-Sneijder-Drenthe
-------Van Nistelrooy-------
That probably won't be first choice, since Drenthe seems to have been signed as a LB, somehow, Robben's being signed most probably for LW and Sneijder has been signed for CM with Diarra. But I'd love to see how it would work.

Madrid have many talents in their squad now.
--------------- Soldado -- Higuaín -----------------
Drenthe ----------------------------------- Robinho
----------------- Sneijder -- Gago -----------------
Marcelo ------ Ramos - Pepe -------- Torres
-------------------- Casillas --------------------------
Casillas (26)
Marcelo (19)
Ramos (21)
Torres (21)
Pepe (24)
Drenthe (20)
Gago (20)
Sneijder (23)
Robinho (23)
Soldado (22)
Higuaín (19)
This team have 21.7 or something in average age. "Old" Casillas shows the arrow up on that list then

From Dutchie comments I have gathered that if Schuster was looking for a playmaker then Sneijder is not the right man. If Schuster is looking for an attacking CM then he might well be.
If there's a shot on within 30 yards of goal then he'll go for it. He's one of the best long range shooters of the ball on the planet although his high goal tally from last season was partly down to the freedom he gained in having Gabri and Davids doing the defensive duties for him. He is good with his feet and can hit it with both his left and right. Negatives may be that he'll frustratingly go for a shot when a pass was a better option, he may also not track back quickly enough and he can lose his temper.
Where he'll fit in Real's formation will be interesting. First thought might be a flat 4-4-2 but I'm not sure how effective Robinho is wide right in a 4 man midfield. Maybe 4-2-3-1 with Sneijder playing the playmaker role with Gago and Diarra backing him up. Or in case Robben doesn't come a 4-3-1-2 like Argentina at the Copa with Sneijder playing playmaker and Drenthe playing LM in the 3 instead of LB.

I wouldn't play him in the hole indeed^^ his dribbling isn't too good. He's best at shooting from distance, you won't see him in the box often. He's fairly short too. With freedom he is an amazing player to have
