Did they buy them for 14 million?

Just Kleberson coast around €12 mill in 2003.

€14 mill is not much money in todays football, espesially not for a club like Real Madrid. Drenthes career is far away from over. He is born in 1987 and he has to be passion. He was the best player under 21 and clubs like Chelsea, Madrid and Barca were interested in him....he need some time and he may need a better attitude. A loan out to a smaller club in January had been perfect. Marcelo is born in 1988 and have done much better than Drenthe, so him over the Hollender anyday..even he has a great talent too.

Don't think it won't be a problem to sell Drenthe either, but time will show. Even he just has played around eight matches this season, several clubs are interested including big guns like Chelsea, AC Milan. But has to work hard to kick out Marcelo/Heinze or Robben/Sneijder/Guti on the midfield in Madrid.

Worse transfers have happened before. Its more tragic to buy in a striker for €50 mill or a duo for €60 mill for then totally fail.

Drenthe Endures A Tough Day

Quote:

Royston Drenthe did enjoy his finest hour on Wednesday after forgetting that Real Madrid were playing Alicante and then giving away a penalty during the game.

The Dutch starlet almost missed the Copa del Rey tie completely when he missed the coach taking the team to the airport in the Spanish capital.

When the club rang him at home to ask where he was, Drenthe explained that he was just about to leave for training only to be told that he had made a mistake.

After realising his error, the former Feyenoord midfielder was told to drive directly to the airport and meet the squad as the coach had already left.

Dressed in streetwear, as opposed to official matchday attire, Drenthe arrived and then changed on the coach before running to join his teammates, who were boarding the plane.

According to the report in Marca, had read that the next training session was at 11am, but had not noticed that it was on Friday.

Having put the problems behind him on the flight, Drenthe then endured a tough outing against Alicante as he conceded the penalty and was then substituted.

Juventus Directors In Madrid For Drenthe

Quote:

Juventus directors have flown to Madrid in order to launch a bid for Real Madrid midfielder Royston Drenthe according to SportMediaset.

Reports in Italy claim that the Bianconeri are after the Los Merengues star and he could arrive in Turin as part of a loan deal.

Drenthe doesn’t seem as if he will enter Bernd Schuster’s plans for next season and Juve are ready to pounce.

It is believed that Ramon Calderon is not willing to sell the player but the Old Lady will be looking to take him on loan and SportMediaset claims Drenthe could be on his way to Serie A as early as next week as Bianconeri officials are already in Madrid to hold talks with the Santiago Bernabeu side.

The Bianconeri are currently looking for a midfielder for next season but so far they have failed to land their targets.

Drenthe would be a much easier option for the Turin based club and a loan move will suit both Real and the Italian giants.

The versatile midfielder can play in central midfield or out on the left wing and this would be an advantage for Claudio Ranieri as Drenthe would provide cover for Pavel Nedved to play in a more offensive role.

A loan would be best as Madrid aren't playing him and he's still a talent so he'll get some minutes possibly at Juve.
