I watched his play carefully at the Roterdam tournament..
..he can't tackle!
Very very fast, nice dribbling, ok crossing, but tackling is poor. I don't think he'd improve Madrid's defence, he'd be good as LM tho

Ajax have revealed that midfielder Wesley Sneijder could be on his way to Real Madrid.
The club's technical director Martin van Geel confirmed to Sportweek magazine that the Spanish champions have offered 24 million Euros for the playmaker.
"Wesley told us that he is ready for the transfer," said Van Geel.
"We will now start a really nice fight with Real Madrid."
Real signed another Dutchman, Royston Drenthe, from Feyenoord on Thursday and their raid on the Amsterdam ArenA seems set to be successful.
Ajax coach Henk ten Cate is bracing himself for the loss of another key player in Sneijder, following the departure to Liverpool of forward Ryan Babel.
"I am already thinking about life without him. If he goes that would be a great shame, really, a pity," said the coach, who has previously stated that the loss of Sneijder would be a huge blow to Ajax's Eredivisie chances.
Ajax kick off their league season on August 19 away to De Graafschap, looking for their first Dutch championship since 2003/04.

Ajax Give Madrid Sneijder Ultimatum
Quote:
Ajax have told Real Madrid that they must meet their €30m asking price for Wesley Sneijder before Wednesday or he will be used in their Champions League qualifier.
The Dutch club laid down the ultimatum after confirming that they have received an offer of €24m for the Dutch international midfielder.
If Sneijder appears for the Amsterdam-based side in the Champions League qualifier in midweek against Slavia Prague then he would be ineligible to play in the competition for Madrid.
"Real have to hurry because we want to play Wesley on Wednesday," coach Henk ten Cate confirmed.
Ajax's technical director, Martin van Geel, was also adamant that the club would not just roll over because Madrid have made their interest official.
"We have a concrete offer of €24m," van Geel said. "We want €30m.
"We are ready to begin the sparring with Real Madrid. We cannot just lie down and accept their first bid."
Despite being previously quoted as believing that Ajax would struggle to win the league if Sneijder left, ten Cate was upbeat about his side's chances.
"Let's not be dramatic," the coach said.
"We should be proud that we have received such a large offer for one of our players.
"Real Madrid are one of the most prestigious clubs in the world and he comes from our youth system.
"If he leaves then another player will be given the chance to rise up.
"That is the way that football is.
"We cannot be weak about this. We still have a great squad and will be one of the favourites to win the title."

Goal.com - Real Madrid - Ajax Give Madrid Sneijder Ultimatum
Marca seem to think that at deal at €23m Euros will be struck. Either way I think that is far far too much for Sneijder and I was expecting him to go for about €15m.
I understand the inflated market but this has largely been in England. Valencia almost struck a deal for Sneijder for €14m. I think that if Real Madrid had tried to get all their spending done a lot sooner then they wouldn't have to pay these prices for these 3 targets.

But look at the developing this season when it comes to transfer sums. Its crazy. Look at Pepe. Look at Hargreaves. The biggest clubs can't even buy the stars. Look at Sevilla and Dani Alves...they denied €35 mill or something, and Sevilla is not that rich.
€30 mill is a lot of money, but this is what you have to pay for players like Sneijder today.

Also Stuttgart regional league player Szalai changes too material Madrid
Adam Szalai of the regional league crew of the VfB Stuttgart changes to the Spanish record master material Madrid. The 19-jaehrige ungar will receive, confirmed a contract to 2010 subject to a sport-medical investigation on Monday the VfB on Saturday agreeing medium reports. Szalai is intended for Reals second crew, which plays in the third Spanish football league. The transfer fee for the stuermer is about 500,000 euro to amount to and can with a successful career Szalais in Madrid to still increase.
Szalai obtained five hits in 33 regional league portions for the VfB Stuttgart II. The Hungarian U-21-Nationalspieler is already the second player of a German association, which changes in this season to material. Two weeks ago ago the Spanish master young professional Christopher Schorch of Hertha BSC Berlin for five years had obligated

That's translated from German. Now I just have to translate it from whatever the hell langauge it's in now.
Basically Madrid just got a 19 year old Hungarian for 500,000 Euro and stuck him in their B Team. Szalai is his name, he's a forward who made 33 appearances for Stuttgart's B Team, scoring 5 times. That fee could rise if he's successful.

Manchester United have offered their want-away defender Gaby Heinze to Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The Sunday Times says a Premier League arbitration panel meets tomorrow to rule on Heinze's future, but in a new twist to an increasingly malevolent saga, it has emerged that Spain's leading two clubs have been asked if they would like to sign the player for less than the £6.8m United named as his "release price" in a letter to Heinze's agent.
The development may be a further signal of how desperate United are not to sell him to Liverpool.
>> I reckon ManUtd will try everything to not send Heinze to L'pool. Real Madrid needs a LB - if they want to play Drenthe as winger - so he's not a bad alternative.

Not sure he's Madrids type (Tough tackling, hard working, doesn't have a great deal of natural ability like Carlos).
Decent signing though.

Schuster Demands A Number Nine
According to reports from Madrid, Bernd Schuster has asked Pedja Mijatovic for another striker in order to sort out the lack of goals.
Real Madrid's lack of effectiveness up front has been glaringly obvious throughout the pre-season.
Barring a superb second half display that saw them score five against Lokomotiv Moscow, there has been pretty much nothing in terms of creative football.
The three goals against Sevilla have not fooled fans, and certainly not the critics - two of them were scored by Cannavaro and Sergio Ramos from deal ball situations, and the third was a long range effort from Royston Drenthe.
None of that has detracted from the fact that bite in the attack has been conspicuous by its absence!
Madrid based daily AS have provided the inside scoop, revealing that Schuster has told Pedja Mijatovic very clearly that he needs a new number nine.
Mijatovic is just as concerned about his plans for the season possibly going awry, particularly with doctors advising that Ruud van Nistelrooy - who has just returned from injury, and who rescued Real Madrid last season - not be given more than 30-35 of the 60 games Real Madrid could have to play.
AS further reveal that the two names at the top of Mijatovic's pile are those of Real Zaragoza's Diego Milito and Ajax's Klaas Jan Huntelaar.

If Van Nistelrooy and Saviola won't score you goals, no-one will. It's not a goalscorer they need, it's a goalassister they need. Another AS fairytail so.

This is something that makes me laugh.
Madrid bought Emerson from Juventus a season ago for 16 million euros.
Now, they are selling him to Milan for 5 million euros.
Isn't it funny that Madrid always gets ripped off? Their fault, really. They're the first ones to offer a huge amount of money for a player they really, really want and always end up being a dissapointment.

Wasn't that a combined fee for Cannavaro and Emerson?
