Well Madrid have definately failed on Kaka. An angry Ancellotti said yesterday "There are no negotiations underway and there never will be, it is impossible for him to join Real Madrid, he is a symbol for us."

Goal.com - Real Madrid - Van Der Vaart Reiterates Madrid Desire

Van der Vaart rumours are rolling now. Van der Vaart says that he'd only leave Hamburg for Madrid and Schuster says he's on his list. That would leave them now needing Hamburg's agreement.

Lucho Gonzalez is still possible. All Madrid have to do is match his 25 million Euro buy-out clause.

Di Maria Bid Rejected

Quote:
Almost a week after the Argentinian prodigy's transfer from Rosario Central to Benfica was announced, Real Madrid stepped in with an audacious bid for the youngster, only to be turned down...

Angel di Maria formally signed his Benfica contract mere days ago, but could have already been on the way out, had the Portuguese giants accepted an audacious bid from Real Madrid.

Sources speculate that the Merengues offered 12 million euros for the 19 year old attack-minded player; a clear profit for a Benfica side that had just paid 5.5 million euros for 80% of the player's contract.

Goal.com

If the Di Maria rumours are true then that means that Madrid have apparently failed this summer to get:

Kaka (this one should count as 50 as that's the number of approaches)
Cesc Fabregas
Christian Chivu
Gaby Milito
Daniel Alves (rejected bid?)
Andres Iniesta
Samir Nasri (said he'd prefer to stay and develop and rejected twice)
Jose Antonio Reyes
Angel di Maria
Arjen Robben (this one's dying)
Royston Drenthe (Feyernoord said it's not happening)
Alexandre Pato (Madrid filed a late bid apparently but he'd decided on Milan)

Next stop Lucho Gonzalez and Rafael Van der Vaart!!!!!!!

I guess this helps back up my claim that Madrid isn't the attraction it once was.

Of course it doesn't help when you have fools running your club like a childs joke shop.

Bullshit. Plenty of this names is invented up bids in the media. Madid have also told that they not will be a part of a bidwar this summer. Give me officially bids from the club and I will believe.

Madrid had got Kaka if Milan had acceptet a bid (but why shall they sell their juvel when they not are dependent on the money?)

The only way we can get Iniesta is to take his clausul. We had heard a bid from Madrid if that had...since Barca then had to accept.

Millito was just a silly rumour. Media in Spain tought that Chivu would be the new defender - but it was Pepe - for a lot bigger sum.

About Pato - Madrid have told that they won't be a part of any bidding war and thanks that they didn't use so much money on a 17-year old 'new Maradona'

And Jose Antonio Reyes...I think Real Madrid is more attractive than Atletico Madrid, or? He went there because the chances is much bigger to play. In Real, he had been benched.

According to some news, Fabregas wanted to stay in Arsenal and rejected a offer from Madrid. We don't know this is for 100 % sure, but its not easy to be a Barca fan and kid and leave to Madrid + he is very young and have got a very nice joy for Arsenal and Wengers trust.

Madrids main goal right now is Robben, and he is not lost yet. Robben and Drenthe is the only one I've read offical from RM that they would try to get an agreement with (the clubs)

So its not so dramatically as someone says it is. All the other big guns had struggled to get Kaka too. Madrid is not 'the one and only' when it comes to attractives....but they are of course still one of them. The media loves to link players to Real Madrid and every summer you can see around 20-40 names linked to the whites.
The club is still the biggest in history, still the biggest club in the world, current champions in perhaps the best football league in the world. But no club can get all that they wish and want.

I respect LAFs opinion on this one and believe me...I am NOT agree with all the Madrid board are doing and you can of course find errors and negative things with them - like with almost anything else on this earth. However, they won the league both with the football team and basketball this in their first season and wants to go for attacking and entertaining football (good for us all and rest of the footballs world) so I guess they do something in the right direction.

You can't use the winning thing. Otherwise Capello would stay right?
Madrid were very lucky and played horrible at times.

During the campaign your board managed to alienate your coach, players and some of your transfer targets (and the clubs they play for).
The Beckham affair was a disgrace the way it was handled, then your president has the cheek to say you want him again, even though he was treated like shit.
I say you won the title in spite of the board, as remember the players rallied for each other after your president couldn't keep his mouth shut.

And who cares about second rate basketball? R. Madrid first off is a football club.

I've answered before on these lines in your inlay, LAF !

We know that you don't like the board now because they fired Capello after the season was over, a manager that was in Madrid for a short-time solution and that said before he took the job that he would retire from football in 2008 or 2009. He played boring and were lucky, so win-win for both parts.

The situation with Becks and the others is just exaggeration.

Btw, Basketball is very big in Spain and Madrid. Real Madrid have big traditions inside the sport and had key players when the national team became World Champions some months ago.

>> And back to the topic, of course can I use the winning thing. Boring or entertaining...deserved or not...Real Madrid is champions 2006/2007.

And the clue with my last inlay is very cleared now I guess.

Default Madrid Make Joint Bid For Robben And Ballack - Radio Report

Silly season rolls on unabated as Onda Madrid reports a 40 million euro double bid from Real Madrid for Chelsea pair Arjen Robben and Michael Ballack...

It requires a suspension of disbelief to deal with some of the stories doing the rounds, but here is another one!

As Real Madrid's attacking and midfield drought continued, Onda Madrid have reported - again - that the club have issued an updated bid for Arjen Robben - and Michael Ballack.

Robben, a long-standing target for the Bernabeu side, has been the repeated target of Madrid interest, but Ballack has only recently come into the picture, with Bernd Schuster reporting that he admires his countryman.

The radio station claimed that Real Madrid have bid a rather conservative figure of 40 million euros for the pair, who would allegedly be amenable to a move to the Spanish capital.

Indeed, some would claim that both players would love such a switch. Marca gasped, somewhat optimistically, that only Roman Abramovich, Chelsea chairman, stands in the way of the two players and the white shirts.

Of course, these rumours are now almost daily occurrences and one wonders when Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon will finally be able to land one of his club's numerous targets.

More so as Chelsea want 40 million for Ballack, and another 36 for Robben!

Default Marseille Official Statement: Nasri's Going Nowhere

Following on from earlier news from Samir Nasri's agent, claiming that his client is not yet prepared to move to Madrid, his club have rendered the point moot with a "hands-off" warning...

Olympique Marseille have insisted that star player Samir Nasri will remain at the Stade Velodrome for the rest of the campaign.

Reports surfaced earlier in Madrid that Samir Nasri's agent had claimed that his client was unready for a switch to the Bernabeu.

Now, l'OM have officially told the world that such speculation is irrelevant. A spokesperson for the club said, "Nasri is a Marseillais and will remain such for the rest of the season.

"The club wants to keep him, and he wants to remain."

The player's agent had already said as much but now, with the club endorsing this, it seems unequivocal that Real Madrid have missed out on yet another signing target.

Nasri, 20, has won three French caps so far.

Yes they seem to think that Ballack and Robben will happen but also Madrid getting someone like Sneijder.

Sneijder's price would be £10-£12mish and I've heard both Ten Cate saying he's indispensible and Sneijder firstly saying he wants to leave when Valencia were interested and then him saying he'll stay for 1 more year when the move to Valencia was off.

If they did get all 3 then the cost would be something like £45m.

If Calderon did say that they will sign 2-3 players next week then I think I know what the media favourite's are........

http://www.elmundodeportivo.es/web/g...381760035.html

The whole Spanish paper clique have banded together with these rumours and percieve the rumoured 40 million Euro opening bid for Robben and Ballack as fact. Real Madrid will apparently pay 50 million Euros to close the operation and sign the pair of them.

Schuster dropped another big clue when he said that "at 2-0 down in the Lokomotiv game, it showed that we need players like Robben and Ballack."

Ballack renuncia a 7,5 millones por jugar en el Real Madrid - Marca.com

Ballack would also drop his 8 million Euro wages per season to 5.5 million Euros a season to join Real Madrid. But don't worry, he'll still be able to get by and get shelter and food for himself because he can still largely depend on the other 8 million Euros he gets from sponsorship.

Royston Drenthe is ready to take Feyenoord to the court of arbitration to secure himself a move to Real Madrid.

Reports emanating from Holland claim the Dutch Under 21 international has enlisted the help of lawyer Harro Knijff to try and win a move to Real.

Real are leading the chase to sign the exciting winger with Chelsea and Barcelona also credited with an interest in Drenthe.

Knijff, who supported Ronald and Frank de Boer when they had a similar case against Ajax in 1998, has revealed he is preparing an arbitration case for Drenthe.

"I can confirm that I am busy preparing the request for an arbitration case," Knijff told Sportweek magazine.

Feyenoord do not want to lose their prize asset and the club's general manager Peter Vogelzang has expressed his disappointment at Drenthe's stance.

Regret
"We regret that things are turning towards this," Vogelzang told the club's official website.

"We have made our standpoint public a few times already and nothing has changed in that: Feyenoord doesn't want to see Royston Drenthe go to another club.

"Our intention is to keep him at the club for at least one more year and if possible longer. We did not extend and renew his contract in April until the summer of 2011 for nothing.

"Feyenoord only wants to sell Drenthe if we get an offer that is as high as we think Royston Drenthe is worth to us."

>> From Feyenoords offical site too. They should sell an unhappy player IMO! Madrid, Barca, Chelsea or whatever...

I'd love Drenthe to be on our team, however I am not to sure about ballack and robben.. especially ballack, I think he's past his prime.
