de la pena is brilliant.
I can't see a team like real madrid trusting on a 31-year-old to be their only playmaker, but that would work imo, de la pena is a player I love to watch... his passes is something I feel like crying .
schuster is annoying me... realy annoying! saviola, cesc, quaresma and now de la pena . I just noticed he moved from barca to real .

I really rate De La Pena highly, but he's to old, and I won't trust ( and I believe that Schuster too) that a 31 years old player to be the key player of my team.

Well the arguement there is AS vs Marca not anyone in Real.
Personally I think Wez Sneijder would be a great signing. Schuster said he wants a defensive mid and attacking mid and Sneijder got something like 16 goals in 30 games last season. Valencia tabled a bid of £8m but I think a deal could be done at £10-12m, whether Madrid want him is another question.

Calderón Confident About Robben And Drenthe
Quote:
Ramón Caldéron is prepared to be patient over the transfer of Arjen Robben to Real Madrid, but admitted that the move for Royston Drenthe was still in the early stages.
The Bernabéu president was optimistic about the chances of both players joining los Merengues before the start of the seasonas he spoke openly to Spanish radio.
Robben has been a long-term target and Calderón stated that he is prepared to continue talking to Chelsea about the Dutchman.
"The player has already expressed his interest, but there has been no agreement with Chelsea," he said.
"The talks will continue over the new few days, and even weeks and if the economic aspect is good then I think that he is a player that we could sign.
Madrid's technical team have also targetted Drenthe and have made their interest known to Feyenoord, but there is still a long way to go according to Calderón.
"There is interest and it is being negotiated," he continued.
"It is not an operation that one can say is close to becoming a reality yet, however."
Bernd Schuster is believed to want both Robben and Drenthe, but is equally focussed on trimming his new squad after taking over last week.
The club had already agred to sign Pepe, Christoph Metzelder, Javier Saviola and Jerzy Dudek before the German was officially appointed.

Real in Iniesta link
Quote:
Real Madrid are being linked with a sensational €60million move for Andres Iniesta.
In Spanish football every player has a get-out clause in his contract, which in theory means a club can buy a player without the consent of the seller.
In the case of Iniesta he has three years to run on his current Barcelona deal - with a buy-out of €60million (£40million), which Real are now considering matching.
Barca opened contract talks with Iniesta at the end of the season, following reports of interest from Serie A.
However, news of Real's sudden interest could spark a transfer scramble for the Spanish international.
Sources in Spain suggest Iniesta is the man new coach Bernd Schuster wants to lead his side - after they missed out on prime target Cesc Fabregas, who opted to remain at Arsenal.
Reports in Madrid claim that Iniesta would be willing to listen to the offer from the Bernabeu, as he is not guaranteed a first-team slot with Barca.
Real are no strangers to making moves on Barca, as they snapped up Javier Saviola on a free transfer earlier this summer - but many at Camp Nou still remember the acrimonious departure of Luis Figo when he joined Real in 2005.

De-frocked
Quote:
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has moved quickly to insist that the club have no intention of letting Andres Iniesta join arch-rivals Real Madrid.
Reports in Spain had suggested that Real were contemplating a €60million (£40million) bid for Iniesta, which would trigger his release clause.
However, Barca chief Laporta insists there is no way Iniesta would leave the club.
"Iniesta is not for sale. He is part of the heart of Barca and is a key player for us," Laporta explained.
"He has incredible ability and knows that he is considered to be an integral part of the team.
"It is just not possible for him to leave. Iniesta does not have a price and he is very happy here.
"We always value our players and they earn what they deserve.
"Iniesta is highly valued and he knows that is how he is thought of.
"For that reason there are not problems and his contract is good for both parties.
"He is a player of unique quality and we consider him to be a member of the team and the club."
"He is destined to end his career here."
Iniesta was also quick to pledge his future to the club following the links to Real.
"I was very surprised," Iniesta explained.
"There is nothing you can do to stop this kind of thing, but I want to repeat that my desire has always been to stay here.
"When I say that want to retire at Barca, I mean that with all my heart."
Real have since denied having any interest in the player.
A statement from the club read: "We dismiss totally any knowledge of the news published today.
"This story is not true and the club not has had no contact with the player or his agent."

Emerson to consider offers
Quote:
Emerson has said he would welcome offers to move away from Real Madrid.
The Brazilian midfielder joined Real from Juventus last summer but is not expected to be part of Bernd Shuster's plans for the coming season.
He is now ready to leave and admits he would be keen to secure a transfer to Milan.
"I am ready to evaluate offers that come my way. Money is not everything in life," Emerson told Radio Gaucha in Brazil.
"Everything is difficult at Real Madrid. I am in the richest club in the world, but there is far more organisation at Milan.
"It all works like clockwork with the Rossoneri, both on and off the field. You never hear controversy."
Emerson was especially troubled by the sacking of Fabio Capello just days after he had guided Real to the Spanish title.
He explained: "I paid the price for being one of Capello's favourite players. I've never seen anything like it in my whole career."

Cannavaro committed to Real
Quote:
Fabio Cannavaro has dismissed suggestions that he could be set to leave Real Madrid.
The Italian defender followed Fabio Capello to Real from Juventus last summer, but had a difficult first season at the Bernabeu.
Capello has now been axed and two new centre-backs, Christoph Metzelder and Pepe, have been brought in.
Cannavaro is aware of rumours linking him with a move back to Italy, but maintains that he is still committed to Real.
"In Italy they have insisted that I'm going to return, but it isn't true," the 34-year-old told Marca.
"I've worked with Capello for three years and I've learned a lot from him. He made me into a winner and I'm thankful to him for that.
"But I signed a three-year contract with Real Madrid and not with Capello.
"I'm sure I'll remain at Real."
Roberto Soldado, meanwhile, is relishing the prospect of playing a key role for Real after returning from a year on loan at Osasuna.
"This is an exciting project. I am proud to have been so patient because I've fulfilled a dream I've had since I was 14," Soldado told AS.
"I was told that any player Madrid loaned out never returns, but they were mistaken."

I hope Cannavaro will stay and fight with Metzelder, Pepe and Ramos for the CD position.

Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster wants a deal settled for Arsenal winger Jose Antonio Reyes. But the two clubs are well apart in their valuation, with Arsenal demanding £15 million for Reyes, while Real's last offer was a knockdown £4 million.
