500,000 Between Chivu And Madrid

Quote:
500,000 Between Chivu And Madrid Christian Chivu's move to Real Madrid is at the moment hinging on Real Madrid offering him 100,000 euros a week (5.2 million a year).

Fifa agent Ernesto Bronzetti, who was a part of the negotiations between AS Roma and Real Madrid, had claimed last night that the two parties had reached an agreement.

He had also indicated, though, that the final decision was hinging on Chivu.

"Real Madrid and Roma have agreed that Chivu will be sold for 18 million euros," he had said.

"Now it is for Chivu to decide."

It had earlier been thought that the decision was over the choice between Barcelona, Inter Milan and Real Madrid.

However, reports this morning suggest that it is personal terms that have yet to be agreed with Madrid.

Los Merengues are at the moment willing to offer 4.5 million euros per season, while Chivu wants at least 5 million.

That is, however, the only sticking point after Pedja Mijatovic and Daniele Prade thrashed out an 18 million transfer fee yesterday, which allowed Los Merengues to speak to the player.

Things are expected to be resolved today.

Barcelona and Inter Milan have already started looking at alternatives. The Catalans are chasing Gabriel Milito, whom Juventus have seemingly given up on, and Inter could well join the chase, looking to sign yet another Argentine.

Soldado On The Verge Of New Madrid Deal

Quote:

Roberto Soldado, the young Spanish forward, spent last season on loan at Osasuna. Liking what they saw, his Real Madrid paymasters are almost certain to offer him a contract extension...

Roberto Soldado is reportedly hours away from receiving a new four year contract at the Bernabeu, despite having twelve months yet to run on his old deal.

The 22 year old striker scored 11 league goals in 21 starts and 16 substitute appearances for Osasuna in the last campaign, and also made two international appearances for Spain, appearing against Latvia and Liechtenstein in the Euro 2008 qualifiers.

Regarding the Valencian as one for the future, Real Madrid seem set to tie him up on a new contract. AS.com reports that Soldado's agent Alberto Toldra and Real Madrid Director of Sport Pedrag Mijatovic reached an agreement on the player's future after a lengthy phone call.

Mijatovic rates the player highly, but it is also thought that Bernd Schuster, who is likely to take over as manager soon, is also a dedicated admirer of Soldado.

I think it's sure that tevez is better than higuain, higuain is still young and may develop but tevez is just a player that can win a match and even a cup(he almost won the last copa for argentina, being the MVP).
I hate ruud, that's unhidden, so I won't compare the 2.
robihno isn't a striker. he is much much better when he's on the midfield, tevez is good in both postions, better striker imo.
did you see his goal against USA ? what a goal!! he is quality.

Tevez Agrees To Join Manchester United

Quote:
Carlos Tevez reportedly agreed to join Manchester United last night in a permanent deal worth more than £20 million, according to The Daily Mail, which broke the news from Venezuela on Wednesday night (Thursday morning UK time).

The Mail claims that the transfer will be completed next week, subject to any challenge from West Ham, who insist that they still own the registration of the player who was instrumental in securing their Premiership survival last season, but whose third-party ownership created a furore in England that is still rumbling on.

The Hammers, though, do not have a contract with Tevez and the owner of his registration, businessman Kia Joorabchian, leaving the Argentiner star and his representative free to negotiate a transfer with other clubs.

If confirmed, the news from South America, where Tevez is with Argentina's Copa America squad, means that United will have taken their summer buying spree beyond £70 milion - making them world football's biggest spenders.

Tevez, who was once fined while playing for Corinthians for turning up to one of the Brazilian club's press conferences wearing a Manchester United shirt, is a close friend of United's Argentine defender Gabriel Heinze. Tevez was reportedly a guest at United's Premiership title-winning party in London.

"He just cannot contain his excitement at the news," said a source close to the Argentina camp.

"Tevez has been concerned about his future, worried about where he may play next season and now he is joining the biggest club in the world! This is massive news."

The Mail reports that United were hoping to keep news of the transfer quiet until the controversy over Sheffield United's appeal against being relegated instead of West Ham, who it is claimed should have lost points for fielding Tevez, died down.

The paper adds that the deal will not be officially announced until the middle of next week, with the official transfer fee and wages still to be confirmed.

United have already signed Portuguese winger Nani and Brazilian midfielder Anderson on five-year contract, and have brought in England midfielder Owen Hargreaves from Bayern Munich. The total cost of those three deals is reportedly £50 million.

Tevez had also been linked with Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Arsenal, although West Ham had been hoping to keep him.

Barcelona Lead Drenthe Chase

Quote:
FC Barcelona have entered the race to sign Dutch starlet Royston Drenthe from Feyenoord and believe that they are his first choice.

The Catalan outfit lodged a bid on Friday and have been told that he wants to move to Camp Nou, according to a report in El Periódico.

Real Madrid have also made an offer, along with Premiership outfit Chelsea and the competition is set to be a fierce one for the highly-rated 20-year-old.

Feyenoord are prepared to sell for as little as €6m as they are desperate to raise funds having failed to qualify for Europe.

Chelsea's offer would see them buy Drenthe and loan him back to Feyenoord, while Madrid have also made it clear that they would ship him out for a season.

Barça have the upper hand as they would put him straight into their first team squad under the watchful eye of compatriot Frank Rijkaard.

That has given the Blaugrana the upper hand in any deal for the players who was named as the Player of the Tournament as he helped the Netherlands to European Under-21 Championhips glory recently.

Feyenoord have yet to responed to any of the offers, but technical director, Peter Bosz, confirmed that they have received plenty of interest, although they have not given hope of persuading him to stay.

"Big clubs have got concrete interest in him, among those is Real Madrid," he said.

"We will watch and wait with Royston and see when he is back from holiday. We would like to keep him."

Fabregas Real Target

Quote:
Real Madrid have reiterated that Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas is still a transfer target, despite the youngster insisting that as long as Arsene Wenger stays at the Gunners, he stays.

Speaking to Spanish-based Marca, Real’s sporting director Pedrag Mijatovic confirmed that Los Blancos are keeping a close eye on the midfield playmaker: “Of course we are interested in Cesc.”

“We've been interested in him for over a year now and we are still interested. He is a great player and I expect all the big clubs will be interested.”

News of the interest will come as no surprise, and is unlikely to please Arsenal Boss Arsene Wenger, who has nurtured the youngster’s talents since he arrived from Barcelona at the age of fifteen.

Having already lost a key figure at the Emirates in the shape of Thierry Henry, he will be keen to hold on to Fabregas, who is earmarked by many in the game as Arsenal’s big hope for the future.

Speculation over the Spaniard’s future has been rife in recent months, but, as covered earlier this week on Goal.com, recent comments from his representatives suggest that his loyalties remain with the north-London club.

Default Real confident over Drenthe

Quote:
Real Madrid are hopeful of securing the signing of Dutch starlet Royston Drenthe.

The 20-year-old Feyenoord ace was the Player of the Tournament at the recent Uefa Under 21 Championship and most of Europe's big hitters were impressed.

Chelsea and Barcelona have both lodged their interest, but Real seem set to seal a deal for the versatile left sider.

"The truth is that I cannot let this pass, it is Real Madrid," he is quoted as saying in AS.

Real president Ramon Calderon has confirmed that he expects Drenthe to sign shortly.

"It seems that the transfer of Drenthe is going well and things should be closed within hours," he confirmed.

"They tell me he is a fantastic player and I hope that everything is done fast."

Calderon has also agreed to hand Sergio Ramos a new six-year contract.

The 21-year-old, who arrived from Sevilla in 2005, is close to signing the deal which will see his wages move to around €4million (£2.7million) per season and his buy-out clause rise to a massive €150million (£101million).

I really hope Madrid can get this player. They need a replacer for Carlos, and the youtube clip of Drenthe impressed me very much. Attacking leftback like Carlos.

He's available for about £4m apparently and Barca, Chelsea and Real are chasing him although Marca seem to think that he's going to be a Real player. Looking at those 3 teams he has the best chance to start for Real I think.
