An announcement by the Tanzania government reveals that Real Madrid will visit the country in July and that preparations have already started to host the Spanish giants.
According to Muhammed Seif Khatib, the country’s Minister of Information, Culture and Sports, the former European champions have confirmed their move to visit in a letter to the Tanzanian ambassador in France.
The visit will mark part of celebrations geared towards the opening of Dar es Salaam's new 60,000 capacity stadium.
A match is also part of the plans and according to the letter, Real Madrid have reportedly requested a fee for the matches it will play, and they are also expected to receive a five-star treatment.
The Tanzania government has appointed a ten-man committee headed by Colonel Iddi Kipingu, the country's Sports Council Chairman, to raise the necessary funds to ensure plans move accordingly.
