Real Madrid winger Jose Antonio Reyes has backed a possible swoop for Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Merengues may he priming themselves for a summer transfer battle with Barcelona for the services of the Portuguese international.
"There has been talk of Cristiano Ronaldo coming to Spain and maybe to Real Madrid," said Reyes, on loan at the Bernabeu from Arsenal.
"You are talking about one of the Premiership’s best players.
"I’d like to see the best players in the world join us and Cristiano is without question one who could a make a big difference to any team.
"I am nobody to recommend anyone to a club like this, but it is evident he is having a great season with United."
Ronaldo recently admitted that he is unsure where his future lies.
Reyes’ future is also far from certain as Real are thought to be unwilling to pay Arsenal’s reported asking price of £18 million to make the deal permanent.
