Real Madrid president spotted in talks with Joaquin
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez was spotted in talks with Real Betis winger Joaquin on Sunday.
Betis coach Victor Fernandez has laughed off the meeting, insisting: "I was two metres away from the conversation."
"Yes, it's true they spoke, but I know the joke, the situation, and I can tell you that no transfer negotiations were talked about."
However, AS insists Perez approached Joaquin after Sunday's game and told him he wants to know when he will be prepared to join Real Madrid.
Real have identified both Joaquin and also Atletico Madrid wonder-kid Fernando Torres as the two next big things in Spanish football.
Joaquin and Torres is for the future, they will not join Real this year.

I don't think Torres will join us. But i think Joaquin will! Henry/Totti has been identified by the spanish press as the two next Galacticos considered by Perez/Valdano. But the best would be to sell Figo and buy Joaquin and Xabi Alonso, and maybe a new defender: Nesta!!!
Maybe not that realistic though..

I dont think that Nesta join Real Madrid. He will be to expensive, and Florentino dosent want to use so mutch money on a deffender.
But Totti:
Real Madrid's marketing team have been discussing the value of the club signing AS Roma star Francesco Totti.
The Italian international is under consideration by Real president Florentino Perez as the club's next big signing, though any decision will be partly based on Totti's ability to make a marketing impact.
Totti is on record saying he would only leave hometown club Roma for one other - Real Madrid.
The stumbling block for any summer deal for Totti is Real's wage cap. The Spanish giants will not go higher than £4 million-a-year with their players.
Totti is on a massive £6.7 million salary at Roma and his contract doesn't run out until 2006

25 Million Joaquin will cost you. I know he wants to move to Manchester United but i dont think united will pay over 20 million for him especially in this transfer climate. But then again we paid 28 for veron :x

I know that Nesta won't join us, but it's a personal dream of mine as i consider him to be the best defender in the world. Another fact that goes against signing him, is that Perez considers it a weaknes to sign a defender. Remember Milito?
Totti is welcome to Madrid. But where can we put him? He's got the same role in the team as Zidane. I think we should "lay it on ice" untill closer to Zidanes' retirement.
But first things first. We ned a defender. Agreed?

alex i a talent, but i myself wouldn't want a brazilian defender if i had the choice... lucio is a great player, but tends to score own goals alot and nott 100% reliable IMO, i've seen clips of alex playing and he's more like juan than lucio... IMO that is
