Zaragoza have moved quickly to sign promising Real Madrid Castilla player Ruben de la Red as Leonardo Ponzio moves closer to his River Plate transfer.
Ruben is frustrated by the lack of opportunities in the full Madrid squad at the Santiago Bernabeu, especially with new signing Fernando Gago from Boca Juniors now set to make his debut against Deportivo at the weekend.
"I want to play in the first division," Ruben explained. "I need a change, but everything depends on the decision of Real Madrid."
Fabio Capello's club are expected to insert a clause into any deal giving them the first option of re-signing the midfielder.
He hopes to impress enough at the Romareda to be re-signed by the Castillan club.
"When I go into the first division, I will find out about my chances [of signing with Madrid again]."
Ruben has been described by former Madrid player Fernando Redondo - to whom he has been compared - as the jewel of the club's youth academy.
