Real want Ribery, Chivu and Alexis
Quote:
Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has confirmed the club's interest in Franck Ribery, Cristian Chivu and Alexis. The Spanish giants have already signed South American trio Fernando Gago, Gonzalo Higuain and Marcelo since the start of the season and are looking to add more players.
Calderon said he had spoken to the club's sporting director Peja Mijatovic about France's World Cup star Ribery, but added that the club's priority was to sign a centre back to fill Real's leaky defence.
"I have heard Peja speak well of the French player, but now I can see he is thinking about the players who appeared in Marca the other day - Alexis and Chivu," he told the Spanish sports daily.
Romanian international Chivu is a long-term Real target, and has been a rock at the back for Roma as they have enjoyed a fine season so far.
Alexis has impressed for Getafe and, at 21, would allow Real to keep a more youthful, Spanish look to their defence.
"Mijatovic and [Fabio] Capello are looking both to the future and the present, and as you [Marca] have already published they are working towards June, to bring in what is necessary to complete the group and continue progressing," said Calderon.
Elsewhere in Tuesday's Spanish press, it has been reported that Real must shell out 22 million euros (£15m) to take Ribery off Marseille's hands.
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder has been earmarked as a possible replacement for David Beckham, who appears likely to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

See what she does then. You will have basically turned the tables on her. Tried this a few times, always works.

Chivu has been the target for years.
Ribery would be a good signing and Alexis seems decent

Ok. Has the Mexes talk cooled down then?
Ribery is a good player, great potential.

Chivu is Real's main target. If Real fail to sign Chivu, they'll go for Mexes.
Ribery has the quality to have success in Spain.
His style of play isn't suited, for the Serie A for example.

It's more likely that Arsenal will sign Baptista than Madrid will sign Reyes IMO.

When I've seen Reyes play for Madrid he's been good. He keeps getting injured, no?

Heh, ok.
Capello is starting to build a mighty squad, he needs a new CB first though.

Alexis is a CB for the future as he's still young.
Chivu would be a fantastic signing, as he can also play LB
