Hmm... Mexes is the better footballer and has more pace I think he'd be suited more playing with Canna, imo. Chivu is very good when on form though.
Mexes had a nightmare when he first joined Roma and didn't play well for quite a while so he may need time to adapt to Spain.

Chivu as LB to replace R.Carlos and Mexes with Canna.
What do you think about this player:
Quote:
Brazilian playmaker Diego was voted the best player during the first half of the Bundesliga season in a Kicker magazine poll of 270 team mates and league rivals.
Kicker said on Tuesday 49.6 percent had voted Werder Bremen's Diego, 21, as the best performer of the first half, well ahead of his team mates Miroslav Klose in second (32.7 percent) and Torsten Frings (4.1 percent) who was third.
Klose, a striker, and Hertha Berlin's Marko Pantelic are the league's top scorers with 10 goals each. Diego, an attacking midfielder, is fourth with eight.
Bremen, who have benefited greatly from Diego's move to Germany this season from Porto, lead the Bundesliga with 47 goals in 17 matches.
Robert Enke of Hanover 96 was voted best goalkeeper in the first half with 37.1 percent ahead of Bremen's Tim Wiese (24.9 percent) and Borussia Dortmund's Roman Weidenfeller (12.2).

Yeah. I was very suprised how well he's done at Bremen, given the style of the Bundesliga.
He'll be playing with better players aswell. Whether he could handle the pressure of being the playmaker at such a big club is the big question though. He has the ability, no doubt about it.

If given the chance to show his quality, I'm pretty sure he would excell in Spain

He'll get the big move if he keeps developing and playing well. He's only 21, that's incredible.

That's right.
He's very young and very good.
Another thing in his favour, Diego wouldn't count as a foreigner because his father is italian so he has the italian nationality.

He'll move in a couple of years if he keeps his form up.

I can't see Bremen selling him that quick unless they get big money.
I'm sure Madrid aren't the only club after him.

Madrid still want Mexes, Capello is a huge fan.
Niether him or Chivu will leave Roma though, in fact Chivu is set to sign a new contract.

The problem with Chivu is that he's injury prone but the advantage is that he can play both at LB and in the centre.
Personally though I prefer Mexes, he's been phenomenal for the last 18 months.
