Wenger nears Baptista decision
-Real Madrid Football Club and Santos Football Club have signed an agreement by which Robson de Souza, Robinho, will be a player for the Whites club from the 25th of August. The player will sign a contract to play for Real Madrid for the next five seasons.
-Real Madrid CF and Sevilla FC have just signed a few minutes ago the agreement for the transfer of the player Julio Baptista. On Monday the 1st of August, the player will be presented at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, after undergoing the appropriate medical examination. Julio Baptista has been signed for the next five seasons
>> Great, great and great. Baptista is muscle, class and goals. He has scored 38 goals on 63 matches in La Liga, and many of you think that he will be a striker at Madrid. Wrong. Baptista is a defensive midfielder, but the last two seasons he has played striker with luck. Real Madrid will use Baptista on the left-central side in the 4-1-2-1-2 formation. Real Madrid have always missed a guy in that position.
Robinho is the future and can both play striker and midfielder. Figo and Becks isn't young anymore, and he will probably start on the bench.
Perhaps will the team be like this:
----------------------------------- Casillas -----------------------------------
----------- Salgado ----- Samuel ----- Woodgate ----- R. Carlos ---------
---------------------------------- Gravesen ----------------------------------
-------------- Beckham ------------------------ Baptista ----------------
------------------------------------ Zidane ------------------------------------
--------------------------- Ronaldo ------ Raul ----------------------------
Bench:
Michael Owen
Robinho
J.M Guti
Ivan Helguera
Carlos Diogo
Pablo Garcia
Francisco Pavon
Ruben De la Red
Raul Bravo
On the bench you can find quality in the defence, defensive midfield, attacking midfield, wings and strikers.
Many says that, why have Madrid signed five strikers?
Raul
Ronaldo
Baptista
Owen
Robinho
>> Baptista will play midfield. Robinho is the future and will play for Becks/Figo on the midfield, and suddently only one striker as backup, Michael Owen. It will also be injures, so both Robinho and Baptista will probably play strikers the next season too.
Lux is talking about a new defender, but its still rumours about Samuel. Perhaps Samuel joins Inter, and Helguera take his place. And then they bring in a OK defender as backup.

I had been glad if you gave me an official link who says that Samuel is Inter player.
However, I just read in Marca that he will play for Inter now. 100 % sure.

Inter Milan signing Samuel: Real Madrid didn't believe in me
August 2, 2005
Inter Milan completed the signing of Real Madrid defender Walter Samuel yesterday for £12 million.
The final details holding up the deal, Samuel's insistence of a golden handshake from Real, was solved with Inter agreeing a signing-on bonus of £2.4 million.
Samuel has signed a four-year contract worth £23 million and said: "Inter has spent a lot on me and these days that is not easy.
"This commitment humbles me and I am determined to repay that faith. I know of most of the members of the Nerazzurra defence and I'm sure there will be harmony amongst us.
"I am anxious to join my new teammates.
"I went to Real in order to win, but we were not successful. I do not want to create controversies. In Madrid they have not believed in me and fortunately I have found Inter that is betting on my future."
Samuel: Real Madrid's Figo wants Inter Milan
New Inter Milan signing Walter Samuel has revealed his former Real Madrid teammate Luis Figo also wants to move to the San Siro.
Argentina international Samuel signed for Inter yesterday and said: "Figo has said to me that he has the possibility to come to Inter. He still has a lot of enthusiasm."
"I hope that he comes. Figo always wants to win."
Samuel says it was his decision to leave Real Madrid
MILAN, Italy (AP) - Walter Samuel said Tuesday it was his decision to leave Real Madrid for Inter Milan despite a disappointing season with the nine-time European champion.
The Argentina defender was introduced by Inter a day after signing a four-year contract and said he had "no regrets'' about ending his stint in Spain.
"I still had four years on my contract and if I had wanted to I could have stayed,'' Samuel said. "I chose Inter because it showed a lot of interest in me and that's the most important thing for a soccer player.''
Samuel's erratic form in his single season with Madrid earned him criticism and coincided with the team's second straight season without a major trophy.
"It was a difficult year for me - maybe I didn't perform up to expectations, just like the rest of the team,'' Samuel said. "It was a negative experience that I've learned a lot from and I hope it can help me win something here.''
Samuel will join seven other Argentines at Inter, including Santiago Solari, who also joined from Madrid this offseason.
Inter is still hoping to sign Madrid's Luis Figo before Thursday's deadline for submitting rosters for Champions League qualifying.

Quote:
Arsene Wenger admits he is leaning towards a decision on Julio Baptista's long-term future at Arsenal.
Baptista is on a season-long loan from Real Madrid after Jose Antonio Reyes headed in the opposite direction, and there is an option for a permanent deal.
But the Brazilian has started just two games for The Gunners and concedes he is still trying to adapt to the pace of Premiership football.
He will start Saturday's game at Sheffield United, live on Sky Sports 1, with Wenger admitting the attacker has a lot to prove.
Wenger accepts Baptista has had limited opportunities to showcase his talents, but will not be drawn on whether he will keep him at Emirates Stadium.
"He will start the game and I think he is ready to play," said Wenger. "In the next six months he has a lot to prove.
"I am leaning more one way than the other about whether to sign him, but I will not say which way.
"He doesn't get many chances because there is big competition going on with Rosicky, Hleb, Fabregas, Henry, Adebayor and Van Persie, who are all offensive players.
"The problem has been to give him the number of opportunities he deserves. I like him as a player, but I agree he hasn't had the opportunities to show how good he is."

See what she does then. You will have basically turned the tables on her. Tried this a few times, always works.
