Real Madrid promote kids to cover lack of signings
Real Madrid coach Carlos Queiroz is raiding the club's youth system to bolster his senior squad.
Real sports director Jorge Valdano said on Monday that it was unlikely that any serious moves would be made in next month's transfer market.
In the meantime, Queiroz has called up three players from his youth setup - Juanfran, Jurado and Alvaro Mejia - to begin training with the senior squad.
Mejia, 21, is a centre-half and expected to taste senior action in the second-half of the season. Juanfran will act as understudy to Luis Figo and Antonio Nunez on the right-side of midfield.
Jurado, just 17, is a central midfielder and rated very highly by Real coaching staff. He would already have made his senior debut if not for concerns over his lack of physical presence.
