The internationals and Last La Liga shouldn't have been scheduled for the same time, this is just careless by whoever was in charge.
Dani Alves of Sevilla agreed to play for Brazil in a call-up where Robinho made a stink about it and it looks like he will be able to play for Real. It would also be a big injustice if Alves gets stuck with Brazil for his last game while Robinho is allowed to go back to Spain.

Bad move by Diarra
This is like the club v country thread, but i dont understand his thinking here. Real have a massive chance to win the title for the first time in years and he doesnt want to be there to enjoy the celebrations if they do it. If i was a Real fan i would be disappointed by his decision.

Has given a lot of others teams a lot to complain about tho as lots of players weren't allowed to come back from NT duty, including a chunk of Villarreal's team including Forlan.

Madrid will miss Diarra whole January
Mali is ready for African Cup and Mahamado Diarra will miss around nine matches for Real Madrid.
Bigg loss and very sad. Fernando Gago will be the replacer, but I'm not so sure on him yet when it comes to his stability. I hope he can develop and impress.

I expect a lot from Mali in this up-coming African tournament. They got several good players now.

I think Gago is as good as Diarra, and nobody will feel that Diarra is missing . ..

Diarra for Sale ??
Quote:
Spanish Press: Diarra Is Up For Sale
Mahamadou Diarra could be on the way out of Real Madrid as early as Januayr, according to rumours in the Spanish media...
Spanish sports daily Marca insists that Mahamadou Diarra is set to depart Real Madrid sooner rather than later.
Rumour has it that the club's technical body and board - including coach Bernd Schuster - have yet to be convinced by the midfielder.
Diarra signed on from Lyon at the start of last season, with then-Madrid coach Fabio Capello apparently having a major hand in the move.
However, he's been in and out of the squad since then, with the likes of Fernando Gago competing for a midfield pivot place and Guti occupying a more advanced role when the situation calls for it.
Coach Bernd Schuster has used Diarra in both a single and dual defensive midfield role so far, and apparently seems happy enough with the player on the surface. However, Marca insists that he's merely keeping a brave face on things, and has instead recommended Diarra's sale.
The board, it seems, has approved of this idea.
As such, Diarra may be allowed to move on in the winter transfer window should an offer be forthcoming; it's more likely, though, that any potential move would take place next summer.
Above all else, Diarra's set to compete at the African Cup of Nations in January, decreasing his value over the final six months of the season.

Maybe Veloso (+ we have Gago and we can bring Javi Garcia back from Osasuna, he's very talented) . . .
But I don't believe what the Marca tells anyway . . Diarra will stay, he's doing great, and Schuster has faith in him !! I believe that all Madrid's fans are satisfied of Diarra (at least I do) . .

Exactly non of the players you mentioned are as good as Diarra. You made a big investment in him and he's only young. He'll get a few more years.
