Cool Real Gala interest in Gravesen

Galatasaray have renewed their interest in Real Madrid's Thomas Gravesen and are lining up a €3 million bid, according to reports in Spain.

The Danish midfielder has been widely tipped to leave the club this summer and has attracted the interest of several other overseas outfits.

At the beginning of June, Galatasaray made initial contact about his availability, but were told that no business could be done until after the Madrid presidential elections.

Following the installation of Ramon Calderon as the new supremo and Fabio Capello as coach, the Turkish giants are ready to open negotiations.

Capello has yet to announce what changes he wants to make to the squad, but the club may be tempted to offload Gravesen in order to finance future purchases.

Galatasaray representatives are preparing to fly to the Spanish capital next week to start talks in a bid to fend off competition from other would-be suitors.

Capello has made one of his first decisions as the new coach of Madrid as he ordered the cancellation of a pre-season friendly match in Chile.

The squad are due to play a game in Salt Lake City in the United States and then fly to South America, but the Italian does not want to make the 9,000-kilometre trip.

Also, the temperature in Chile in August could be as low as two or three degrees above zero.

Meanwhile, Real Zaragoza are confident that they can wrap up a deal to take Carlos Diogo on loan from Madrid next season as Capello already has Michel Salgado and Cicinho vying for the right back spot at the Bernabeu.
