Default Madrid finished second

..and is ready for next season with Champions League.

Madrid lost their first match since February in the league tonight ( 4-3 against UEFA Cup winners Sevilla )

Sevilla won 4-0 against Boro, 3-2 against Barca and 4-3 against Real Madrid on one week. Thats impressive.

Madrid started with Mejia in the defence who is in blame of three of the four goals. Why not use Raul Bravo, Helguera or Carlos Diogo? I'm glad Lopez Caro is history soon.

A very good 2006 for Real Madrid. They lost one or two matches this year and the mess in the beginning of the season with injures and manager mess destroyed this season.

But second in La Liga was a big patch tonight.

Osasuna won against Valencia tonight and is ready for CL. A bit sad because now Sevilla can't play the CL next season. They had deserved it more than Osasuna, which is a team full of assholes.

And as far as I can tell, some believe they finished second because everyone else was crap, but that they almost finished fifth because they were crap.

It all depends on what you do with your revenue, and Real Madrid has been squandering huge portions recently (as, indeed, Barca has in the past).

I agree your buys have seemed strange at times. You need to balance your squad with less 'hollywood' players.

By hollywood I meant flair players or players with attack on the brain.

Cicinho, Robinho, Cassano, Julio Baptista all fall into this.

I like Ramos but he's much better at RB.

Gravesen isn't good enough, IMO.

I disagree about Ramos being better at right back...I think he has been equally good at both centre and right, although he does need a good partner to play centre to the best of his ability, I don't see him as having any natural leadership skills.

There is an awful lot of shit in the Madrid squad...it will be cleared out in time.

Ramos played very good as right back for Spain in WC. Maybe the best right back so far. He was both offensive and defensive and read the game very well. Again, he is only 20 years old.

But I want him as central defender in Madrid.

There are some shit in the Madrid squad. Thomas Gravesen, Pablo Garcia, Mejia, Pavon and perhaps replace Helguera, Salgado and Soldado.

However, Real Madrid have a very exciting and talented squad with Robinho, Cicinho, Cassano, Baptista, Casillas, Diogo, Sergio Ramos + all the Castilla players like Juanfran, De la Red, Balboa.

Unfortunately, the most important role in Real Madrid is covered by two of the shite players in Gravesen and Garcia...and Woodgate is always injured.

Madrid need one central defender. One left back if Carlos leaves. One defensive midfielder in worldclass. One replacer for Zidane and perhaps one new striker if Raul, Ronaldo, Soldado or Cassano leaves the club.

Vieira isn't a proper DM/holding player. I think Aimar would be a bit of a waste considering the players already at the club that can play behind the striker.

Mascherano (not world class, but few in the world with as much potential at that position).
