Milan have confirmed Real Madrid are planning a move for Carlo Ancelotti, as they look for a new manager.
Ancelotti is the latest name to be linked with the job at El Santiago Bernabeu, as they begin a new regime at the Spanish giants.
The former Italian international has admitted he is flattered to be linked with the post, but Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani is confident Ancelotti will stay at the San Siro.
"Yes, it's true. Real Madrid are interested (in Ancelotti)," Galliani told La Gazzetta dello Sport
"But I'm willing to make a bet that he will still be the coach of AC Milan next season."
Ancelotti's future has been the subject of intense speculation for a number of months, but Galliani revealed they are planning to hold talks over a new deal to extend his stay at the club.
"He will stay at Milan for many years to come. We don't sell our best players, so I don't see why we should let our best coaches go either," added Galliani.
"Our results over the past five years put us at the top of the Uefa rankings. There's no reason in the world to change.
"Ancelotti has a contract with us until next year and we will talk soon about the renewal."
