Shocked Guti: “Right now my priority is Real Madrid”!

Guti , captain of the team in Raul's absence is also a good defensive midfielder.Guti did not avoid any subject, especially those which alluded to his continuing with Real Madrid. He was pushed to bench when Gravesen arrived though Gravesen proved better than Guti. Now with the arrival of Pablo and Diogo there is the slightest chance that Guti will stay in Real.

That's what I thought. Isn't he supposed to be Zidanes replacement?

Well, he was at the club much before Zidane came, so I don't think "replacement" should be the term used. I prefer 'alternative' or 'option', because 'replacement' has a negative connotation to it.

I hope he stays, because if we do use 2 Dms, one could easily be substituted for Guti to add a spark to the team.

Vieira is another level when compared to Graveson and Beckham though.

>> Real Madrid have three quality players at the deffensive position now. Pablo Garcia, Thomas Gravesen and Ivan Helguera. The only position who is really backed up by quality. And the job Gravesen did with Madrid the last part of the season, no need for Viera.

>> Yes, because of Jonathan Woodgate's injure. He can play centre back, but he is top class in the deffensive position, both for Real Madrid and Spain.

I dont think Woodgate will ever be the same player and he always will have problems with that injury for the rest of his career. Stick Helguara back there and you can still have Vieira in the midfield. Im surprised they didnt make a move.

Stick back Helguera, and you have Thomas Gravesen and Pablo Garcia in that position. Vieira had coast plenty of money + he has a star name. Better to use workers like Grav and Garcia. And IMO it had been difficult for Vieira to play like Gravesen did.

About Woody. He has trained himself up 100 % now and I hope he will be the same player he was for Leeds and N'castle. He is 25, and I hope he get rid of that injure. He is a good player, but the injure can set him on the sideline. Then Helguera to centre back and Gravesen/Garcia on the deffensive part of the midfield.
