If they don't want to get into bidding wars and end up spendin much too much money on a player can't they both offer the same amount so they'll both be accepted then it'll be down to the player to decide...

Many reasons why Gerrard can choice Real Madrid.
1. He will respect Liverpool and don't play for Chelsea in the same league
2. He can earn equal with money in Madrid, as in London
3. Liverpool and Real Madrid have a good relationship. Benitez wants many players from Madrid.
4. Real Madrid - biggest club in the world, both history and economy. Will always be on the top and get attention.
BUT
1. Real Madrid have not space for him at the moment
2. Do Florentino/Sacci and Lux wants him?
If Gerrard wants Madrid move and Lux/Perez wants him. He will sign. But..I think Gerrard is already a Chelsea player

>> Thin on the midfield? Zinedine Zidane, Luis Figo, David Beckham, Thomas Gravesen, Carlos Diogo ( new from River Plate ) Pablo Garcia ( new from Osasuna ) J.M Guti, Santiago Hernan Solari and Ivan Helguera. All of them are quality players who plays for the national team. But it will be different if Figo, Guti, Solari and perhaps Helguera leaves.

Solari has been sold to Inter.. and we can count on that Guti and Figo leaves Real this summer... so you have: becks, zizou (old), gravesen, garcia and diogo..thats are not enough for a club who plays in all fronts!

>> Well...all of them are still in the club, and I'm not sure that any of them will leave either. Solari will probably play for Inter, but its not official yet. Zidane is old, but he will plat at least one season for Real Madrid and he will not be benched.

its be pretty fun if every major club have a agreement with other major clubs like Real Madrid and Milan that they can't buy each others players.. Then they can't buy noone big name so this agreement-**** should be illegal by FIFA and UEFA!

>> I know what you're saying, but it will never happen that all the big clubs have a deal like this, and remember, its not 100 % that Real Madrid not will buy a player, AC Milan wants. But in a deal like this, both clubs will have communication and be agree to not push up the prize. This is a deal inside the clubs, so FIFA, UEFA or whatever can't deny it!

Agree. Samuel started bad but he played well the second part of the season. I don't want to sell him or loan him out. We'll probably get Woody back, but I want Samul, if not a "galactico" defender joins us.

you simply must get a defender...i think letting samuel go would be silly UNLESS he really wants to go.
woodgate can be a superb player for you....really good centre back and deserves a bit of luck now.

Agree!
Selling Samuel is a bad ide..and we all know Woodgates injure problems. Helguera and Pavon is ok defenders, but not in world class as Madrid should have behind there. We must also remember that Real Madrid had a great stats last season. Only 4 goals more than Barsa behind Casillas.
