7-2? Ridiculous... giving up 7 goals at that level of competition should get a manager fired and some players benched.

Regardless of the opposition.

The whole point of ITV showing the champions league is to show English teams. Spanish channels show Spanish teams, Italian channels show Italian teams and so on.

Imagine if United played, lets say Real Madrid, and ITV choose to show Juventus and Galatasaray. Which will get more viewers?

Now they've just won 4-2 against a decent Marseille side. Same problems (if that's what you can call it) with Madrid at the back though, why they haven't spent some money on a quality centre back I don't know. Ayala would certainly have done a job for them. But they are absolutely breathtaking when they move into top gear and attack with great movement and speed. Roberto Carlos fantastic surges down the left, and Ronaldo his usual deadly self. For me still the team to beat in this years competition!

I disagree, they won't beat Milan or Juventus at this stage...if they don't address their defensive shortcomings.

Well if ManU and Real meet again this year....I'm positive Fergie will employ different tactics to exploit Real's "holes". At this stage...ManU is more dangerous than Real....I hope that comment doesn't go to any ManU fans head...

I agree they are more than a little shaky at the back, and if any teams are going to capitalise on Madrids weaknesses it will be an Italian team, but that depends a great deal on them being able to contain Madrid. I know the Italians pride themselves on their defensive work, but I still don't believe they'll keep this Madrid team at bay.

True...but they won't score 4 or more against those two teams I mentioned. They didn't last year, and all those "stars" started to get fustrated when the going got tough. Adding Beckam will make them more dangerous in attack, but getting rid of Makele (sp?) was a mistake. Time will tell..
