Default Wigan striker eyes move to Rangers

Wigan forward Lee McCulloch has told BBC Sport he would relish the opportunity to move on to Rangers.
The Ibrox club failed with a £750,000 bid for the 28-year-old Scotland international in January but are being tipped to make another advance.

And McCulloch said: "Rangers are a massive club. The kind of club who should be winning trophies every year.

"They are in the Champions League, have a fantastic manager and everyone in their career wants to step up."

McCulloch is under contract with the Latics until 2009 and Rangers' winter offer was described as "derisory" and "insulting" by then manager Paul Jewell.

Chris Hutchings has since stepped up to replace Jewell and McCulloch said: "I've had a short chat with the new manager, so we'll just wait and see."

McCulloch moved to Wigan from Motherwell in March 2001 and he is well known to Rangers boss Walter Smith, who regularly selected the player during his spell in charge of Scotland.

"Six years at Wigan has made me a better player," McCulloch added. "Every game is a massive game in the Premiership."

I think this would be a good signing for Rangers. McCulloch has picked up a lot of experience since leaving Motherwell, and would be a good addition to the squad. Plus I dont think he would cost a lot.
