Default Boyd ready for Rangers comeback

Quote:
Rangers have been boosted by the news that Kris Boyd is back in contention for Saturday's game against St Mirren.

The 23-year-old striker limped out of the 1-0 defeat to Falkirk at the start of December with an ankle injury but has returned to full training.

Gers assistant manager Yves Colleu told the club website: "Kris has fully recovered from the ankle problem.

"Although he hasn't played any games since the injury, he is available for selection if we need him."

However, Dado Prso and Steven Smith will continue to sit out with groin injuries.

Colleu added: "Steven has undergone some tests and we are waiting for the results.

"Until then we won't know for sure how long he will be missing. It's a blow to lose him because he has been in good form, but we want him fully fit and will not rush him back until he is ready.

"Dado was unavailable for the Inverness game but did some running at Murray Park this morning.

"I think the St Mirren game will be too soon for him, but we will see how he responds to treatment in the coming days before making any judgement."
