Got a photo here...

Portugal´s Cristiano Ronaldo (C) walks with a bandage on his right ankle as he leaves the field with team-mates at the end of their first training at the Maladiere Stadium in Neuchatel, Switzerland.

Cristiano Ronaldo cast a pall over Portugal's first training session here ahead of Euro 2008 as he left the field with a bandaged ankle, an AFP photographer on the scene reported.
The Manchester United striker walked off the pitch holding his right boot and with what appeared to be ice packs wrapped around his right ankle, five minutes before the end of the team's first training session at Neuchatel, their base for the competition.
The player did not seem in pain and walked off the pitch unaided and without any signs of hobbling, the photographer said.
Portugal will play the second game of the championship this Saturday in a hotly-anticipated clash against Turkey at 10.45 pm (2045 GMT).

oh gezz,
i rather him play have rubbish tourniment, then ppl moan how if he did play how portugal would of won, which is lolable .
I dowt he will prove me wrong. teams will double team him, he won't get much freedom like he does against weak epl teams and rubbish european teams, he probs score the odd free kick.
or he proves me wrong? hmm

Regarding his captaincy, Ronaldo said he is a 'Man of Character'.... How is his an impeccable character when he dives, cheats and whines.
I still think Quaresma will be our golden boy in this tourney. Sven is right! Teams will do their best to contain CR, it will be impossible for him to do anything.

If there are 2 men marking Ronaldo it will open up space for other players anyway. Often people don't seem to appreciate this...

Portugal have to execute in this manner. Opening space for nani or Quaresma.... there is no point in benching both for the 1st half.... Ronaldo should play a free role, as a CF.
Scolari has to take risks.... we all know this is his last stint with the team.

Even with 2 men marking ronaldo he we still do some damage... He has done it all season long in the epl and champions league. And Ronaldo so far in the first 2 major tournaments he has been in he has impressed.. Cmon no one here can say he won't do nothing I mean he is the best player on the planet at the moment. but I do agree with jec that we can not have both Quaresma or nani on the bench.. One of them have to play.. but jec and I think everyone knows who I would perfer first lol!

Portugal will do just fine, with or without C. Ronaldo. They have plenty of wingers/ attacking power to perform, Portugal just needs to be self reliant and creative.

C Ronaldo tested at the striker position
OJOGO ONLINE
Verdes - Ricardo; Miguel, Meira, Bruno Alves e Jorge Ribeiro; Quaresma, Raul Meireles, Miguel Veloso e Nani; Postiga e Hugo Almeida.

If this is true, then it seems my original thoughts on this matter were bang on. You have depth in the middle and are weak up front, then it makes sense to use your strength.

He's probably refused to play out wide and forced the managers hand. Quaresma and Simao are better wingers anyway.
