Im sorry I know he came up in the Sporting System but how long is to long?

The guy has not impressed me and I for one wanted him to succeed.

He is to lazy and doesnt for some reason try hard enough.If he had the work ethic of Ronaldo maybe he would be a good player.

Well we will see...

Remember hes still young about 22,23 years old.

PPL need to remember that every player is different not everyone can be like C Ronaldo, Rooney, Messi get big breaks when they are 17-18 years old.

Just like Quaresma was a young star, he went to Barca and back to Porto some even dared to label him a flop, but he has rebounded and has had a impressive season at Porto.
Or even Simao was once considered a ' flop' by some but now he is 26 and has enjoyed success in recent seasons and scores a wonder goal against Liverpool

For all we kno, Viana could become a star next season at Valencia.

Sometimes players just need the right guidance and coaching to gain confidence. Viana had talent went to Newcastle and had a rough time there after coming back to Sporting and now at Valencia he is trying to regain his confidence and get his big break.
the Spanish league should suit his style much better than EPL.

Like you said, he just needs to work hard to get his big break and showcase his talent.

Not on Valencia!!! I dont think Viana is that good. Somewhat overated in Portugal but he is a nobbody overseas.

I know he is not worthy of a Thread....Since he was added on the NT....My thoughts are can he prove people wrong since there is alot of Haters.

Personally I thought he played well For Valencia and showed his old Form with Sporting.

Do you think he is Capable of regaining his Old Form? Can players progress in the latter Stages of there career?

I have thta Feeling to since everyone Hates him....The Guy has Talent its Just that sometimes he is a Lazy Worker and you see the Potential.

Decos backup? I dont understand but I see Viana being a Surprise Player and I hope he proves people.

He gets called lazy by many but Scolari obviously can see what he can do with the ball. IMO his style of play gives that impression. True or not, he can still pass the ball with great vision. This guy can make a few brilliant passes a game. However, I don’t think he'll get to play much, if even at all. We rely on Deco too much to see much of Viana.

But if this young guy reaches the hype he had when going to Newcastle WOW Portugal will have an amazing young team... Ronaldo, Quaresma, Fernandes, Moutinho, Hugo Almeida, Vaz Te, Bruno Vale etc etc & Viana

I think Viana is a fine player, I feel bad that he dropped in worth so much but that goal in qualification was a scorcher. Viana got game he just lost tons of confidence when he was in Engaaland
