Once apon a time last season, Postiga was quality. I can't understand how it has gone so wrong for him. If you saw him last season and this season then you would see he is a completely different player.
I think he will be back in Portugal before too long.

Viana wants move
Viana wants move
Portuguese midfielder Hugo Viana wants to leave Newcastle United in the January transfer window.
Viana's failure to hold down a regular place in the side has put a dent in his hopes of making Euro 2004.
"I don't feel well physically or mentally. My last two matches were dreadful," the 20-year-old told Portuguese paper Record.
"I've got to find another club if I want to play in Euro 2004. Any club will do. I just want to play."
Viana signed from Sporting Lisbon in July 2002, but has only made sporadic appearances for Newcastle.

How about going on loan to a I division team in England , I'm sorry we don't have a spot at Beira-Mar with Juninho Petrolina and Sandro playing on his place, maybe you can find him a place at Maritimo.

Hugo Viana on loan to Sporting
it looks like its a matter of time, Sporting try at the begin of the season for his service but Bobby Robson didn't go for it, it looks like his willing to do it know, Sporting directors where in England yesterday to decide on Hugo Viana future.
My opinion he lost two years, and he got a lot to catch up, I don' think his going to be the player when he left, its going to take some time.
Sporting – Hugo Viana pode regressar a Alvalade
ASF
Agora, o treinador do Newcastle aceita emprestá-lo.

He won't be the same player he was 2-3 years ago but the main thing is that he will beplaying more regularly and will get noticed more by Scolari.

Bobby Robson having second thoughts on Viana exit
Sir Bobby second thoughts on Viana's Newcastle exit
tribalfootball.com - December 14, 2003
Newcastle United boss Sir Bobby Robson is having second thoughts about allowing Hugo Viana to leave on-loan in January.
"There is some benefit to letting Hugo Viana go out on loan," said Sir Bobby. "But there is no benefit if in January, February or March we pick up an injury in midfield and one of our best players is playing for somebody else.
"Where is the benefit in that? We have signed players and given them good contracts to play for Newcastle United, full stop. That applies to everybody.
"I will make the decision and not agents or other clubs who want our players. It annoys me - we're going to dig our heels in."

Sporting afford 22,5 thousand euros a week? over $23,000 dollars that's what he get's paid a week.
Bobby Robson still undecided, he my need to use Viana in the month of February, March, April and May.
Bobby Robson confirma interesse do Sporting por Hugo Viana
ASF

Robson said that he was going to keep Viana now. As a sub in case of injury  Smart move Bobby, why loan out your better players if you need them?
