Hi, Frank.

I'am a kind of "fan" of the portuguese women's roller hockey. I started to see women's game in 2005, I liked what I saw, and then... I stayed there, to support girls sport

International Competitions
Portugal finished last european championship, played in Alcorcon (Madrid, Spain), in the 3rd position. In 2008, portuguese national team will play for the World Cup, in Japan, from October 5th to 11th. Portugal never won this title, Chile won the World Cup in 2006.

Portuguese national team is coached by Rafael Oliveira and João Calado. Cláudia Rego (plays for Fundação Nortecoope) is the team's captain...

Portuguese under'19 girls - very talented girls, indeed - finished the 1st edition of the European Under 19 championship, held in Luso, Portugal, in the 2nd place, loosing the last game for Spain, by 0-3... very sad score...

National League
The regular season 2007/08 arrived today to his (her?

) last day.

From the next week on, 8 teams will fight for the national title. The stronger team is Fundação Nortecoope, champions in the last 2 seasons, and Mealhada, Nortecoope and Boliqueime are kind like "ousiders", but far away from the current champions.

in the Northern Zone, teams qualified were:

1st Fundação Nortecoope
2nd HC Mealhada
3rd CD Nortecoope
4th CH Carvalhos

In the Southern Zone, qualified teams were:

1st CD Boliqueime
2nd UDC Nafarros
3rd Alcobacense
4th GDR Lobinhos

who do we play next?

I see a lot of women's game, and i dont think its is so competitive as it could / should be... anyway, my work is to promote it, in order to give players more confidance to keep working

In order to be clear: the teams who qualified were the most experienced; Anyway, the teams that didn't qualified, shall be encouraged to keep working!

Eg: in last year's edition, the english team BURY ROLLER HOCKEY CLUB (Eastern Counties), played in the final stage... but in this year, they just... gave up

In the final stage, the 8 qualified team will play in a "Final-eight" model, knock-out tournament in one single game, in one of the club's paviliion.

As far as I know, the cities who might host the tournament are Mealhada (Portugal) and Coutras (France). In the next days we will have a final decision.

The final stage will be play from May 22th to May 25th... in a place that we don't know already, but that I would like... to be in Portugal

A TRÊS JORNADAS DO FIM

A Fundação Nortecoope sagrou-se ontem campeã nacional de hóquei em patins feminino. A equipa maiata, que superou o Nafarros, por 6-0, beneficiou da derrota do Mealhada (o 2.º classificado) frente ao Boliqueime (1-2), para festejar a conquista do título nacional a três jornadas do fim.

Hóquei em patins feminino / Mealhada na «final four» da Taça
Os quartos-de-final da Taça de Portugal de hóquei feminino registaram, os seguintes resultados:

Académico da Feira-HC Marco, 0-2

Boliqueime-Lobinhos, 5-4

HC Mealhada-Alcobacense, 5-2

Externato São Filipe de Estremoz-Fundação Nortecoope, 0-7.

A final-four da Taça de Portugal decorrerá no próximo fim-de-semana no pavilhão da Lavandeira. No sábado, dia 21, há jogos às 18h00 e às 20h00. O vencedor da Taça de Portugal de 2007/08 será encontrado no dia seguinte, no mesmo local, a partir das 17h00.

Eis os jogos agendados para as meias-finais: HC Marco-Fundação Nortecoope e HC Mealhada-Boliqueime.

A equipa técnica da Selecção Nacional Feminina, composta por Rafael
Oliveira (Seleccionador) e João Calado (Adjunto/Prep. Físico) deram a
conhecer o nome das doze (12) atletas que irão estar presentes nos
Estágios finais de preparação para o Campeonato do Mundo, que irá decorrer
entre 5 e 11 de Outubro, em Yuri-Honjo, Japão.
Depois do quarto lugar obtido no Mundial anterior, disputado no Chile,
onde a Selecção anfitriã conquistou o ceptro, seguindo-se Espanha e
Argentina, Rafael Oliveira terá quatro estágios para preparar as atletas
lusas, de forma a alcançarem um bom resultado em terras nipónicas.

As doze atletas convocadas pela equipa técnica nacional, são as seguintes:
